Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion/Reactions
12/12/10 3:36 am | #1
I missed the VGAs when it aired, so I just heard about this and saw the trailer. I knew this is what they were working on for a while, but I'm totally excited for it to be finally announced AND has a release date. Too bad its a year from now.
One thing I can assume from this trailer is that cinematics are (hopefully) going to be a big part of the game. Elder Scroll fans know that Bethesdas weak spot is in the cinematic/animation department, but with the recent merging Bethesda has been doing with other companies, like id, hopefully we'll get a more impressive display beyond environments.
Also, Nords were always my favorite race and having it take place at their homefront is going to be epic!
What do you guys think?

This. ^
11/11/11 Will be an epic day to remember. If it is delayed then Bethesda will will get fire-bombed by angry fanboys.
Right now I'm in the midst of replaying Oblivion 1, and it's still my favorite action RPG to date (even over Fallouts). I've always been inclined towards the Elder Scrolls series though. Horse Armor anyone?

Can't wait, stoked for the game, just hope it's not a glitchfest like New Vegas loved Morrowind and Oblivion and the trailer was sweet.

I hope they take the same stance with it as they did with New Vegas, as in going back to original gameplay elements. I mean to say that I want this one to be less Oblivion and more Elder Scrolls 1-3.

I have both of them (Morrowind for PC AND for Xbox) and I still haven't been able to play either of them more than an hour.
Maybe I'll give them both a try AGAIN before 11/11/11.

Definitely good news. Hopefully the inevitable expansions will be just as good as the Shivering Isles was for Oblivion.
Now I just need Half-Life 3 to be announced and I'll be all good for the rest of the year.

They both had their flaws, but I'll be damned if they weren't fun games that I spent countless hours playing. I promise if you don't like them the next time you play them, I'll give you...uh...a kidney. You do have to play them for more than an hour though.
