Yeah, I got an email from Capcom a week or so ago:
Continuing its commitment to support Dragon’s Dogma post launch, Capcom is pleased to confirm that it will be making new modes and content available in the coming months.
Available free of charge and scheduled for release before the end of the year, the million strong community of Dragon’s Dogma players will be able to put their skills to the test with the introduction of Speedrun and Hard modes. Speedrun will challenge players to clear the game as quickly as possible with in-game equipment awarded for those who clock specific times; while Hard Mode turns up the difficulty with enemies that are tougher to defeat, but with the reward of further equipment.
Looking ahead to 2013 Capcom will release Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen and we will be sharing more details of this exciting and major expansion to the Dragon’s Dogma universe in the near future. This title is not yet concept approved by Microsoft.
I haven't written anything up yet, because this email from Capcom is all they've announced right now... Well, that and a speed run video and some screenshots. When they send more, I'll post it.

i hear Dark Arisen will run us $39.99. this is an outrage. that better just be the price for the combo of DD + DA.

I'm pretty sure it's 40 for EVERYONE, they were saying something about it on x360a, old players get a giant bonus pack or something, people were pissed in the thread about it 
I'm excited though since I've never played it.

no, you can use my pawn though. he's a lvl 87 Archer named Leon who's a badass.

Well that's what I meant, will he be a lvl 87 upgraded gee in my game too? And how would you recommend a n00b to the game play? Archer?

yes he will.
you should play it to your style. i was a knight when i started, because i like swords. then i was an archer for a bit then later got tier 2 classes which are upgraded versions of your starters, then tier 3 is cross classes. butchea. have fun with it, there is no wrong class. i have successfully maxed at least 5 of my vocation classes and swap up quite a lot.

Nice, I like RPGs that don't penalize for a specific class, when I played Two Worlds 2 recently (poopy) the archer and mage were pretty worthless. That's one thing that makes Skyrim so good, you can pull out any weapon and be effective with it for the most part.

another thing, if you REALLY want a challenge, Hard mode is REALLY REALLY REALLY hard. you will get 1 shotted by Goblins in the first area. wu tang clan aint nothin to fuck with.
