dude....seriously, you can't hear any emotion from him? Because Jenson is far from Monotone. Whenever I'm playing the game, I swear I can see Clint Eastwood in the booth doing the voice work for this guy. I don't know, you just got to see what kind of guy this dude is. He isn't one for showing his emotions on his sleeve. He is an ex-swat, miltary(?) type in a head security position. So he isn't going to let a lot of people see any kind of emotion from him. He is in charge of protecting a lot of lives so I mean, he's going to have the hardened exterior. But if you really listen to him, especially the banter between him and the tech dude, you can hear emotion and sarcasm....It's quite entertaining.

Maybe you're just not that good at picking up emotion in peoples voices?

Well, in my opinion he changes his tone little
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoiler

Like when Jenson talks to Mrs. Reed about the investigation after Megs death (in the very beginning of the game). We know Meg and Jenson had a relationship or something and you'd think he'd have some emotion about it, and I don't care if he ex-SWAT. But, I really didn't hear a huge change in tone, didn't sound sad or anything and I choose the sympathetic dialogue.

But that's just what I think.

I was making fun of his voice while I was playing too, something about it just irks me, I also said the same thing about him being monotonous, I said it sounded like he has a dick in his butt though...

Regardless of the fact that you care if he is Ex-SWAT or not, it still defines him and his behavior. A lot of people don't show emotion to peoples death, even girlfriends/wives/cousins/mothers whatever the case maybe.

I don't know, I know it's your opinion and it's cool, I am not arguing with you about it, just a discussion. I for one, can sense his subtle clues in having feelings and emotions. Acting as one would in the position that he has been put in, and basing on his past as well.

I still hear Clint Eastwood when he talks though, lol

I don't know maybe it's me, I'm kind've a weird guy lol:) Or maybe I just don't like the voice actor, anyways I'm still enjoying the game. Of course I really didn't follow the game, just saw it out and rented it, didn't know there was so much stealth in it....I'm not a stealth guy:no: Keep getting caught taking someone down, would a non-lethal takedown be more effective at not getting notice?

Not positive since I've ONLY done non lethal take downs so far (going for that 100 pter), but it seems to work pretty well since you can take someone down who's literally standing 2 arm lengths away from someone else and NOT get noticed 95% of the time with the non lethal takedowns which usually consist of Mike Tyson KO'ing the person or giving them a Tazzmission

You're probably reading too much into it when you give him credit as ex-SWAT... there are a LOT of terrible voice actors out there.

no i agree with you when you say that, and I probably am, I am not disagreeing with anyone with the voice acting, just stating my opinion...I don't know, I was just saying as to why I don't think he shows too much emotion. He doesn't sound monotone to me at all.

Finished it this morning, had a blast with the game overall, however my 100 pter for foxiest of hounds didn't pop even though I know for a fact no audible alarms were set off, gonna have to wait for a solid guide before going for it again or I may just bundle it with my hard playthrough and clean up achieves. 9.5/10 final verdict from me.

I agree. Definately channeling Eastwood! And I think it's actually a very well done, subtle performance. The character is supposed to sound the way the voice actor is portraying him. I'm guessing no one here has played the previous game?

The voice actor's name, by the way, is Elias Toufexis, and he's been involved in other video game projects (bad guy in Splinter Cell Conviction, for instance) as well as various TV shows.
