You get an ATV for free very early in the story, like after the second mission! You get another during the course of the story in the first 2 areas. If you put in arkfall codes (see below), you get that ATV early. If you preorder, you get a Dodge Challenger roller! In the beta, a roller was available for purchase at the first vendor, but later builds have moved some or possibly all vehicles to another location at the beginning of the second area/chapter. The only place I saw APCs in beta was PvP, so they may not even be accessible in the overworld...
As a prerelease promotion, you can input 120 arkfall codes out of the 155 released to unlock bonus items. I am told that you can copy/paste them from a site listing them all on the computer. I, however, wrote them down on paper and input them individually on my phone since my father didn't have internet and I was visiting him when I discovered my first code! All I can say is... Its worth it, even if you do it old school!
As a followup, I should inform you that there may be similar promotions for finding codes within the game after launch and the system allows you to input more than the required 120 codes...

I did all 120 codes via copy/paste, so it works. However, I did a 121st code and it did not register, so I am unsure on the whole doing more that 120 thing. This was all done Thursday though, maybe it got changed?

When I input my 121st and 122nd codes, it stated success in applying points but did NOT increase the ticker beyond 120. When trying to enter those same codes again, it states that its already been applied. There is a transaction history for your Trion account that also tracks codes beyond 120...
