Quote by Ken Levine:
When we completed the original BioShock, we felt we had said all we wanted to say with Rapture, but we weren’t done with the idea that is BioShock. BioShock is so much more than a story of a single place or a single time. We had so much more we wanted to say.
There are two core principles for us that define a BioShock game. First, it has to be set in a world that is both fantastical and yet also grounded in the human experience. Second, it has to provide gamers with a large set of tools, and then set them loose in an environment that empowers them to solve problems in their own way.
Yes, we've come to relate the name BioShock with Rapture but the game's creator tells us here that there's nothing cementing the two together. I think the teaser looks amazing and it's not that hard to say we might be surprised by any connections we find might find between the games. It sure looks as though this game will have it's equivalent of a Big Daddy and the very opening shows us an underwater city in an aquarium. Who knows maybe we'll meet Andrew Ryan's father or grandfather. While I enjoyed revisiting Rapture in BioShock 2, it definitely lacked that awe factor we felt with the first one. Maybe a change of scenery will help us recapture that feeling.

Just got around to watchin the trailer, looks pretty sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed both Bioshocks despite their individual flaws so I'll definately be trying this out when it drops...in 2012. I'm quite glad it's not taking place in Rapture yet again, an air city is a pretty good idea since it hasn't really been done in a game like this.

i'm really looking forward to this release.. I wish there would've been a little more coverage of it at E3 but did catch a little on G4.

Can't wait for this game. Bioshock was amazing, didn't like Bioshock 2 that much, hell I didn't even beat the game. Hopefully the game comes out good though...

Happy to see they moved it up to October and hopefully it stays that way. I was just looking over release dates the other day for my anticipated games and this was still listed at December 31st.
