while it might not make you JUMP with fear, it is very creepy. the story is TOP NOTCH. the voice acting, cinematics, renders, landscape, and physics are all VERY good and polished. It's a def. must play. IMO it's much better than RE5.Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoiler Don't expect to run through it guns blazing a la RE4&5 as you'll find out there are pretty tense situations where you have to survive without a weapon.
and for the people who says A.Wake is not scary... the last time I checked
Alan Wake is classified as " A Psychological Action Thriller" which is not the same as an Survival Horror. eventhough they share MANY qualities.
EDIT: There are a few "OH SHIT!" moments too. LMAO
this game is kinda like if
X-files, Harpers Island, an H.P. Lovecraft Cthulu novel, a Stephen King Novel, Silent Hill, and the Evil Dead series all got together and had an orgy.... and someone wound up preggers and this is the baby.

I kno right, it even says that on the box i believe? I watched the video review on IGN and the gameplay i saw was very impressive, the graphics looked very nice and the lighting looked phenomenal

Overall I'm giving this a 9/10.
It inst flawless, but it is pretty close. There are so many pros that the cons can be easily overlooked.
This is my Official "Pre-Summer" pick for GOTY

How are the achievements, Poodle?

there coming smoothly. So far most of the one's I've gotten are story related. there are a few collectibles in the game, but all the collectibles add to the story (there actually Pages from a book that fills you in on some of the plot) so overall pretty easy. I'm not even halfway through the game but I'd reckon an easy 700 points without trying for cheevos, and you could prolly max it out after your second play though. I'm honestly not even paying attention to them, b.c. I am so engrossed in the story.

yea i heard it takes at least 2 playthroughs to find all the pages anyways because some only unlock on the 2nd play or somethin like that, not sure, also heard there are thermos's to collect(little nod to twin peaks)

I just beat alan wake and it was great. the story just grabs you and the ending demands thought, leaves the door open for alan wake 2 and DLC.

^^well they said the second season is going to be released via dlc. we get the first episode for free since we purhcased new.

just beat it and wow, gonna play through it again soon. really enjoyed it can't wait for the dlc!

the first DLC comes out july 28th for those who purchased new.
