I started back in the early 70's with pin ball machines, but my quarters went to the video games when they rolled in for the first time.
Home - Atari 2600 - Adventure. That was what the game was actually called. 3 castles, 3 dragons, a maze or 2, 1 sword with no swinging movement and that was about it. We played that game for hours!! Pong never really did it for me.
Arcade - Defender. I played Asteroids + Space Invaders, too, but I really didn't like them. Defender has lots of color (for back then) and the movement was crisp and quick.
Handheld - Texas Instruments Soccer - @1979. Red dots on a black screen. I wore out a bunch of 9 volt batteries playing that game.

holy balls. when i started gaming blood looked like red squares hahaha. i started at 7 with sonic adventures then i upgraded to xbox and played halo 1 and i got addicted and no lifed all games i played...ohh and achievements didnt help my addicition.

My parents to Begin are gamers lol so as soon as i could hold the controller and understand what i was doing i was playing. So I started with games on the orginal nintendo, atari and coleco (Which I still have and play). I got tons of favorites, to name a few Galaga, Q-bert, mario series, Nightmare Creatures, Gta series, Elder Scrolls games, Manhunt, Backyard wrestiling there goes the neighborhood, Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero 2, Halo 3, Fallout 3

been gaming since late NES era, but that was when i was very young and just playing while not knowing what i was doing. i started gaming "for real" when i got an N64 when it came out 
those days were so much fun xD
edit: my favorite N64 games included: Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Zelda OoT, Zelda MM, and Quest 64...
