that trish chick is ugly lol.
anyway... not a whole lot of sequels are better than the original.
diddy kong's quest is a great choice though krueger. best of the series in my opinion.

yes Noah I agree with you on both of those, lol. She isn't really all the attractive and Diddy Kong's Quest was the best in the series.

i actually thought of one!
condemned 2: bloodshot. amazing sequel.
i kinda sorta wanna' say that C1 had a better story... but C2 just dominates in gameplay.
i still say that C2 was my funnest 360 MP experience to date.

While hardcore players still prefer 2, I think Soul Calibur IV is absolutely the best in the series, as it has an excellent blend of arcade-ness and in-depths options. The graphics and overall presentation are very nice, and I like how approachable it is for n00bs.
Street Fighter IV is, to me, a very awesome sequel for the SF series. I really enjoyed 3 but I feel like it and the Alpha series were aimed at the more dedicated fighting game fans. SF4 does a really good job of giving fighting fans a broad set of moves and interactions to play with, and at the same time it gives old arcade rats and other fans of SF2 the same game play they love. When I first heard the graphics were 3D I thought it was going to be another EX, but ultimately I really love the visual style & presentation of the game and I think they did an excellent job updating the graphics without changing the 2D game play much.
I never got to play the original, but as much as I enjoyed GH2 I found Guitar Hero 3 to be superior in every way, minus a couple of the tracks. I loved Rock Band but Rock Band 2 was even bigger and better.
Gears of War 2 improved upon every aspect of the first game I liked. The single player campaign was far more enjoyable, the multiplayer was better and more robust, and the added Horde mode was incredible.
Rainbow Six: Vegas was surprisingly fun to me, as I normally don't like tactical shooters or anything with stealth-y elements; R6: Vegas 2 turned out to be far greater than even the first game, and I really enjoyed playing it both on- and offline.
For older stuff, I really enjoyed Tony Hawk's Underground because I had been a fan of the series and played every game since the first Pro Skater. I felt like THUG took it in an interesting new direction and I enjoyed the variety and customization.
I never really liked the Need for Speed series, but when I bought and played NFS Underground I was thoroughly engrossed from beginning to end. The racing felt good in an arcade-y sort of way, and the fairly consistent unlocking stuff added incentive. NFSU2 was even better.
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance was one of my favourite games ever, and while a lot of fans didn't enjoy the sequel as much, I place BG: Dark Alliance II on the top of almost every gaming list I make. To me, the sequel's pacing, characters and overall gameplay just hit everything right, managing to improve upon a game I already really liked. I feel the same way about Champions of Norrath and its sequel, Return to Arms, although they were only really enjoyable with 1-3 other players.
