I've never faced any ridicule.. I admit people holding plastic guitars jamming out look hilarious, but it's all in good fun. I can play real guitar and bass and see nothing wrong with people who before could only air guitar now being able to rock on a new level. Rock on.

I find it easier to hold down the frets on the plastic one than the actual one. Thats just me though.

I 100% agree with you. Everyone hates on Guitar Hero, including a bunch of people on this site. I love it (well not GH3), and I love Rock Band, and I am good at it. Does that mean I have no life, NO. I play real guitar. I'm not very good at it, but I play it. In fact, Guitar Hero is what got me interested in guitar. So in a way, Guitar Hero has helped me. I play GH/RB for fun, and just because I'm good at it doesn't make me have no life or anything like that. They are good games, and should not be flamed.
