On to the Tournament info:
Bracket
There are 18 teams in the field, with four teams having play-in matches to work themselves into the main bracket. There was no seeding in this tournament, so where your team is on the bracket was done by a random draw. The top team in each bracket will always be the RED team, while the bottom will always be the BLUE team. This will come into play for hosting order and choosing which side to play as.
See the full bracket and Participation list on the Gears of War Tournament Page.
Flaws, Exploits and Cheats
Anyone that plays Gears in multi-player knows what flaws there are (almost too numerous to list). Whether it is getting on top of, below or outside the map or racking up points by keeping a man down. None will be tolerated, so please play fair and if you get your ass kicked, take it in stride.
Hosting and Side (COG or Locust)
Each team will have the opportunity to host one of the the first two matches in each round based off their team color (RED or BLUE) in the bracket. If a third match is needed, then the host is decided by the team that had the most accumulated rounds won across the first two matches. If there is still a tie, then the team with the player that scored the single highest point total from either of the first two matches (regardless of a team win or loss) would host.
Example:
-Match 1: Hosted by RED Team (Red Wins 3-2, High score by team blue player Sharpshooter with 115 pts)
-Match 2: Hosted by BLUE Team (Blue Wins 3-2, High score by team blue player Sigmund with 60 pts)
-Match 3 (If Needed): Hosted by team with most accumulated rounds won across the first two matches, or (if a tie) the team who had the player with the single highest point total from either match (regardless of a team win or loss). (In this example, due to a tie, the player Sharpshooter on team blue had the highest point total for either match, so their team would host.)
The host team will also pick which side they wish to play as, COG or Locust.
