I am a huge halo fanboy, but I would never buy a halo book. I just like the setting for this game and am tired of waiting for it to come out.

I am a little over half way done with the book and it is still really fun.

EndWar does indeed look great!
I keep passing by the book at the grocery store nearby and may have to pick it up.
Can't wait to have my hands on the game.

As for Halo3, it didn't strike me as having so great a story as to demand novels either, but one day out of the need to kill some hours I grabbed Halo: The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund and I was pleasantly surprised to find a well-written, interesting story that actually got me "into" Halo a little more.

The Halo novels are a nice background filler to the game and I would definitely recommend them. I've been wondering about reading the End War book too. I think I'd rather play the game first then read the book.

Yeah some of us had concerns about the HUD, but the UBI Community Developer was quick to let us know that it's only a placeholder and the trailer will really be just to showcase that the voice controls do INDEED work. So yes, they are/or have already tweaked the HUD to look more polished. :D
