Does anyone know what the deal is with Time Warner - Ohio not getting NBC in High Def still? I was looking through their HD programming and they STILL do not have NBC HD in our area.

I really want to watch Heroes in HD, but am unsure if that show is even broadcast in HD yet.

Darn TW - they have such a monopoly for our area.

Yeah, there was that whole Fiasco a couple of years ago when NBC and ABC switched channels. We used to get NBC in HD - but the switch happened and they never have added it in addition to ABC.

According to NBC's website, they do have HD programming, but for some reason SW Ohio Time Warner is not carrying it. :(

Oh well, I thought maybe someone has heard something about it coming soon or something.

Does anyone here use an Over The Air HD Tuner? I have been starting to look into getting one of these for the NBC HD channel, etc. I am missing through Time Warner.

I am starting to do some research on AVSForums.com, but does anyone have any other good HD resources sites they know of?

I AM your ultimate HDTV resource. Shoot me any questions you have. I have an off-air antenna in addition to HD satellite and TW HD cable.

Satellite and Cable - you must be rich... LOL.

Well, I really have no idea where to start on the Over the Air Antenna stuff. I just want one that is easy to hook up to my TV to get NBC HD locally in Dayton.

I currently have Time Warner using the HD-DVR box they supplied and run it on my Pioneer Elite 1080i TV. From what I have started reading, I can purchase either an outdoor or indoor OTA HD antenna. I would prefer indoor, but not sure they are good enough to get a good HD signal.

Also, do I run the HD antenna via coaxial through my TV directly or does it hook into the HD-DVR box from the cable company?

It's been a long time since the old Rabbit Ear days, so I am not sure if that is how the new HD signal receiving fiasco works or not.

Do you know of a decent OTA antenna that isn't going to break the bank?

Z... do you recommend an indoor OTA and if so, which one? I had an outdoor OTA, however it doesn't mount to my new satellite dish as the diameter on the new mounting pole is different from the old one.

San Grial, I could assist if you were referring to DirecTV HD, however the cable company wasn't ready when I moved in and the satellite got mounted and have never looked back, otherwise I would be stuck with Insight Cable.

Get an indoor antenna with amplification. I have an RCA that has 45 decible of Amplification designed for Suburban-Rural use and it works like a charm.

As long as you have a built-in HD Tuner in your tv, you run it into the coax input on the back of the TV. If you don't have a built-in HD tuner, you are SOL or need to buy an external tuner.

Absolutely. Buy one that is amplified (plugs in). The key is that all HD signals travel in the UHF spectrum (Channel 14 and up) so the UHF piece of the antenna is the most important.

Yes, the same RCA antenna I purchased is under $40 and works like a charm. You can find it at Best Buy in the Home Theater section. I would link to it, but my connection is slow down here in Florida.
