The Hurt Locker - 1/5
I really don't get what the big deal is about this movie. It's a bunch of guys in Iraq that sometimes disarm bombs and most of the time sit around freaking out because they are on edge 24 hours a day. Um... yeah I know this is probably a common thing, but what's the angle here? This movie doesn't really say anything one way or the other, doesn't try to preach any stance for or against the war, only develops the characters a little... I guess I just don't see the point? I think James Cameron's sci-fi version of Pocahontas was more Movie of the Year material than this.

It's a real character driven story about his addiction that's pretty much summed up in that quote at the beginning-
Unattributed Quote:
"The rush of battle is a potent and almost lethal addiction, for war is a drug."
I just thought it was a very well made film.

Hmm, that's a good point; I had sort of forgotten that quote at the beginning, but if you keep that as a point of context, it definitely sets the movie up as an intense character study set in relevant, modern terms.
Plus, as you said, it is a very well made movie with effective pacing, so that also explains what "the big deal" was. Like I said, I guess I didn't get it, but at least now I understand why other people were so in to it.

S'all goo bro! Sometimes movies are a lot better the second time around.

Ninja Assassin- 3/5
It would have been better, if the blood didn't look SOOOOOO fake.
Sherlock Holmes- 4/5
It was pretty good, but kind of predictable, IMO. Kind of funny too though.

About the only downfall to this movie for me was Jennifer Garner, I just don't know what it is about her but I can't stand her at all.
This!

Maybe it's because she's just a terrible actress. Just eye candy.
