I just got out from seeing fantastic beasts as well. I gotta give it an 8/10. I as well am a great fan of Harry Potter, but I very intentionally went into with the mindset of it being its own film and I think that setting my expectations accordingly allowed me to perceive it differently. I think the reason t felt so much less fulfilling than the original is that the original 1 came at a time when it was so unique. Now we're over saturated with so many big blockbuster action movies that it can't be as powerful. 2) Harry Potter is a story that went out of its way to make us want to be part of that world whereas this film was merely a fantasy film that wanted to endear and entertain us. And it did both those things for me. I think as a film it was quite enjoyable. I wish they'd spent less time on some subplots and more on others and that it was more of a standalone film than the first in a long series that should never have hired Johnny depp to be anywhere near it. But that more tickled my desire for lore than it did take away from my overall enjoyment

Sausage Party - 7/10 - For a movie with such a ridiculous premise, most of it surprisingly worked. There were some pacing issues, and while most of the jokes made me crack up, some were just stupid. Like, SNL stupid. I know pacing shouldn't be a factor when it comes to a comedy, but there's times where this movie does try to actually take itself seriously, which kinda feels out of place. Still, it's a decent hour and a half of raunchy entertainment. Not as good as most of Pixar's movies though, which this movie parodies.

Rogue One 10/10 absolutely fantastic film I cannot express enough. CGI is black magic. See it ASAP. I write a Star Wars blog, I'm going to have a spoiler-filled review up soon, and maybe a spoiler free one after that. http://holystarwars.blogspot.com check it out for all the other stuff I put up on there i've been doing it bout 3 months now

Next Tuesday I am going to see rogue one with Evol when the kids are in school, then we are taking the kids to see sing in the evening. I'm so excited for next Tuesday.
On topic, the last movies I saw were
The Secret Life of Pets: 7/10- eh. It was cute and funny but nothing to freak out about.
Moana: 9/10. Totally reminds me of the Aladdin era of Disney. I loved it, but like Aladdin I think it wrapped up too easily after a ton of build up.

Oh, I forgot Fantastic Beasts- 8/10. I liked it, and I'm so glad to be back in the Potterdom. But I hated both the main chick actresses. I don't know if it was them personally, or the way they were directed. But they sucked.

Logan. 10.5/10 I'm really obsessed with the score it was super subtle for most of it, but when it wasn't, it was almost uncomfortable in the kind of way that pries open your vulnerability so that it can crawl inside you and tear you apart from within. Lust like Wolverine.
I wrote this about it https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PCuXD4Dg0ZnXaODvGU1egaUwLzd3FQeRmRntYzxN-j4/edit

Fantastic Beasts - 9/10 - I thought it was really good and could definitely be the start of a new series.

Logan...
I've got to think about the rating. I'll come back to this.

Ok. So I've given it a week, and I'm going to give Logan an 8/10. It's a really hard movie to watch. Not just because of how the R rating freed them up to do Deadpool style violence and gore, but because aging is a hard subject to really watch on the big screen.
That aside, the plot is meandering at times, parts seem thrown in for shock value more than being necessary for plot, there are definite plot holes, certain things are TOO convenient, and there are a ton of questions that just don't get answered. It's not a bad movie- but Wolverine deserved a better final outing.

Finally saw Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, now I realize Han Solo deserved to die, a shame Indie didn't just ride off into the sunset with his dad. 3/10
Saw the new Star Wars movie, cause everything comes late to theaters in Japan. I must say that was pretty damn good as a standalone movie! 7/10

Murder on The Orient Express - 5/5
Just a fantastic piece of filmmaking from director Kenneth Brahagh who also stars as the famed Inspector Hercule Poirot. Stellar supporting roles from Jash Gad, Daisy Ridley, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, and even Johnny Depp was well cast.

I'm glad to hear this was good! I'm going to take my mother to see it next weekend, we enjoyed watching the old one.

Justice League 4.5/5. GUYS. Why does everyone hate this movie it was so good and of course it wasn't perfect but it really took all of the elements of the previous movies and just did them right. the humor was on point. the dialogue was the right kind of corny. The exposition was really impressively done for so many characters in such little time. And, the world building was natural and not shoehorned in like it was in BvS. Seriously makes me excited for the next movies in the franchise
