Let Me In - 9.5/10
Let the Right One In (original Swedish version to Let Me In) - 6/10
it may just be swedes dont have as much of a "drama" thing going on over there, but they could have done a better job with the suspense in Let the Right One In. really didnt feel as good when i watched Let Me In first. i guess i was just expecting more. Let Me In however, was brilliant. if they had made it even more creepy, i would give it a flat 10/10. really liked the beginning because i thought "oh crap! a rather fucked up movie im going to enjoy!" (yes, i enjoy psychological fucked in the head type movies. my personal fav effed up movie is the anime series Elfen Lied. dont know it? WORTH A WATCH.) but back on topic, it soon became clear that it wasnt an effed up movie, just a kid with a really bad childhood. still pretty effed up, just not to the scale it began on. fuck Twilight, id rather Let Me In take its place.

A 4/10? Did you watch the movie high lol? I mean I know we're all entitled to opinions but damn that's really harsh.
agreed, I thoroughly enjoyed the original, but I also watched the original BEFORE our version released, which I then saw in theaters and also enjoyed.

yes. and that is a little harsh. it wasnt THAT bad... 6/10. final verdict. in my defense, it really lacked a lot of build up. it was just bland throughout. i shouldnt have watched Let Me In first.

I find it pretty interesting that Chaind far preferred the US version to the Swedish original. I still haven't seen Let Me In but I have heard fairly good things about it. I look forward to watching it to see for myself how it stands to the original which I really enjoyed.
A similar situation happened with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I really can't wait to see how the US version is.

see here's the thing, i prefer a more.....grittier movie type i guess. and watching Let Me In first really blew the expectations for Let the Right One In out of proportion. the #1 thing i can say is, i really shouldnt have watched Let Me In first......i cant stress that enough. they are the same movie, but the vibe is completely different. honestly, after watching it for a second time i have a feeling i'll gain a better view of it. i watched the two within 2 hours of each other.

Yeah, I'm actually gonna read the book and watch the Swedish film before watching the new Americanized version. I found the entire trilogy in hardback, brand new, for around 18 bucks on amazon.

The Thing - 3.32/5 NNR
This was enjoyable for a horror/monster movie. The main actress was good and all the Scandinavian folks were fun. I haven't seen the original so I wasn't hip to any of the nods towards it but I liked the story. If you put this and Event Horizon together you'd have the perfect Dead Space movie.
Horrible Bosses - 2.1/5 NNR
This wasn't as funny as people say. It did have some moments, and Jamie Foxx's small role was pretty good, but overall it just wasn't a great comedy. The 3 main characters were all very annoying and unfunny to me.
The Hangover 2 - 0.03/5 NNR
I haven't actually watched this but I am pretty sure it sucks balls. Would not recommend. The story is probably retarded and the "comedy" is likely garbage.

dude the original is a CLASSIC. easily in my top 10 fav movies of all time. they didnt even go for the approach they did in the new one where the thing was out in the open a lot. the original always had you guessing, "wait, is he one? who did that? i bet it was that guy." and half the time i rewatched it just so i could see the very subtle things that lead up to the very end so i could find out who was infected and when. im still trying to find out at what time it got
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoilerBlair, because i swear the research he was doing in the middle of the movie proves he couldnt have been the first to be infected. why would the thing research its own capabilities?
