The impression I got with it was if Paranormal Entities 1 & 2 had went full retard like in Tropic Thunder, you would end up with Insidious. Cliches all over the place, but this is the first recent horror movie I've seen that wasn't torture porn.

I've never understood the recent trend of torture-horror movies like Saw, Hostel, etc. The movies themselves aren't scary, they're more or less just disgusting. I watch scary movies to be scared not revolted, if that makes sense.

Agreed, that movie was terrible. I watched the entire thing and couldnt stop laughing.
You guys should check out Battle LA, it's like a better version of Skyline mixed with some District 9. Still not a 5/5 but better.
