Grizzly Bear - Shields (2012)
just found this band, and they're Prog as fuck. it's like the vocalist of My Morning Jacket found talent and formed this super awesome group. really impressed with Shields. HIGHLY recommend Speak in Rounds or Yet Again to listen to. good sleep music.
8/10
Sybreed - God is an Automaton (2012)

Food and Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album, Part 1, by Lupe Fiasco. (yeah thats the real cover)
5 out of 5
Lupe is probably the most greatest rapper out there. He is real. Its a story from beginning to end and its just... beautiful. He's the only rapper I would recommend to people who don't listen or like rap. Its a shame the right people dont look up to him and actually pick up on what he's saying. But like he says himself, they are more interested in thuggery and shit like Chief Keef.
Favorite songs so far (and ones you should give a listen): "Around my way", "Lamborghini Angels", "Bitch Bad", and "Battle Scars" Ft. Guy Sebastian.

I've listened too way too many cd's this past week... so i'll submit my favorite album to date:
Red - Innocence and Instinct
10/10
I can't think of a song on there that isn't amazing... Shadows (Track 8) was co-written with the lead singer of Breaking Benjamin.
This cd is amazing when playing Dante's Inferno!

How to Destroy Angels - Welcome oblivion (2013)
8.5/10
For those that don't know, HtDA is an electronic "post-industrial" band consisting of Trent Reznor, his wifey Mariqueen, long-time collaborator Atticus Ross and producer Rob Sheridan, both of whom have worked with Reznor on many later NIN releases. Welcome oblivion is the third release from the group and the first full-length album.
It is mostly laid back electronica with pounding beat pulses and eclectic instruments sprinkled throughout. Mariqueen wrote the lyrics and provides most of the vocals with Reznor on backup, and there are some tracks where they both use their voices simultaneously to create haunting harmonics.
The first half of the album is mostly dynamic vocals that go from barely audible high notes to distorted background drones, and the second half of the album features wandering instrumentals that reinforce the album's concepts of cyclical phenomenon in life and nature without using words.
I strongly recommend this album to any Nine Inch Nails fans, as well as people that like strange-but-not-noisy electronic music. My favourite tracks are "And the Sky Began to Scream", "Too Late, All Gone" and "How Long?"
You can download the album for free from their official site or torrents (the band "leaked" it themselves) and buy a deluxe version on CD or vinyl if you wish. It is also available in super high-quality, lossless digital format.
