Price Drop on Games?

I had seen a rumor (and posted a link to a pre-order page) that Top Spin 2 and Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires would be priced at $39.99 when released instead of the $59.99.

Today I dropped by EB and got a copy of the price list, and sure enough, both were listed at $39.99. Gamestop (same company now) also has both listed at $39.99. Top Spin 2 also shows up on Amazon for $39.99, shipped from the Toys R Us Amazon store.

Maybe this is the start of a price drop in order to strengthen the hold on the market place prior to the PS3 launch.

Regardless, if these prices hold, it can only be good news for us.

Bring it one... I would be happy if it just stayed the 49.99 for a new release unlike these new 59.99 pricing!

The only game I bought right on the spot was Ninja Gaiden 2. Too bad it stunk... yes a price drop is necessary.

Thats not a price drop all games that arent considered good or popular enough to be release at $59.99 are always at like $49.99 or $39.99

Like Lego rockband was only $49.99 to buy new from the start and Jurassic the Hunted was $39.99 but MW2 is $59.99 and Sports games are $59.99 new to start as well.

anyone else notice....almost every game HAS to be priced at 60$? wether sony or ms, majority of games start out at 60$ (i cant say nintendo cause ive seen majority start at 30-40$ new) and um....idk about you but im sure thats price fixing if you mandate its price....and ummm...last i checked isnt price fixing illegal? like where you make it to where any product in that category HAS to be that price?

mad moxxi sucked balls, but i liked the zombie island.

it just comes down to what you want, man.

i've spent a shitload on fallout 3. i bought the game twice because my first disc broke. that's 120 right there. not to mention the 5 DLCs at 800 each! if you look at my list, i don't have PSU complete. i don't have tomb raider complete. i don't have fable 2 complete.

i'm all about completing my shit but i won't spend money completing shitty games.

I dont think this will become normal, its just because of the games. These arent the greatest games and Dynasty Warriors is on what, its like tenth title. I think its just cause they're not so popular.
