Cases can always be made either way for every politician. For example, Obama once referenced Canada's prime minster as a president. Taken alone, that can make Obama seem like a complete idiot. In reality, that is an understandable slip-up.
Our presidential candidates are more like actors than anything else. Their goal is to display all the right qualities and totally eliminate common human error from the mediums in which we see them. As long as they play their part well enough, they get the job.
Instead of blaming the politicians, although they may be deceitful power-hungry assholes, I can't help but feel like the system is what needs to change.
