You know, I\'m all for free speech. Hell, it\'s why I\'m allowed to write on here about different games and complain about the people who play them.
But seriously....what in the hell happened to self-control? I played a kid on Madden that spent more time screaming into my headset to try and distract me than actually forming a coherent sentence.
Is it bad that I\'m forced to mute my headset and turn the volume down on the earpiece just to enjoy my online sessions anymore? I wasn\'t kidding when I said that there was a huge difference between APF2k8 gamers and Madden gamers online.
Case in point: My last APF session was phenomenal. I played against a guy who had created a 300 pound fullback and a 400 pound running back. Instead of complaining about it, I asked him what made him do it. It lead to a conversation about who was the best \"big man\" running back. All of this while simply playing the game and enjoying it. An occasional \"Dammit, nice play\" would come from either of us at any given point.
Then you have Madden gamers. As I mentioned before, there is usually comments about me screwing one of my family members if I\'m winning the game, or about how I\'m apparently cheating to win. I think that the best comment came from a guy who said I was doing the old QB Cheese, which is basically rolling out on every play in order to run.
The problem with his assessment? I was using the Bears. Rex Grossman, who runs about as fast as a snail, was my quarterback. I use play-action rollouts to set up the pass. It\'s called \"smart play calling\" if you ask me.
I swear that I will gouge out my eardrums so they cannot be violated in that manner anymore....and it\'s going to be a little while before I go online with Madden again.
