More Members Rant

Don't get me wrong I have liked this site since the beginning when it was JUST XboxOhio. The original members can relate to this. There are 2 reasons why I haven't been as active as I was before on here. The first reason is I'm going to college and stuff so I got work from there to do all the time and my job as well. These both interfere with xbox and internet time in general hence not much time to view my favorite forums/sites or play my favorite games or even NEW games out. The second reason would have to be the expansion. More members is good, don't get me wrong, but is # of members what we really want in the long run? We are growing rapidly everyday but theres a huge problem. MOST OF THE MEMBERS ARE NOT POSTING OR EVEN VISITING THE SITE!! Do we want this?? As I browse other forums and stuff I see everyone flashin the sig with what Rank they are in their state. Then the people that aren't posting and they just want to be on the state leaderboards are telling their friends about it=more members just wanting the sig to show their rank=no posts=no interest in site whatsoever. This is not all of the members but for a majority of them this holds true. This may offend some of the newer members but I've been here since they started the site so I've witnessed the expansion for the most part. Rant Done, Please give your opinion on this.

JMB, I see what your saying brother. Alot of people are just coming on this site just so they can say there the best in there state. Not even posting once. Maybe it's something Z and pasta may want to address. Maybe after
2 months of not posting they get removed. But if they claim they will be gone for a few weeks(after the two months)...It can slide. There is nothing wrong with having this many people but you are right half don't even post here.

Well its half and half this is the first site that I have enjoyed posting on. Most site are not as interactive as this one

I agree with you JMB. We have a lot of members that just registered for the leaderboard and then left for good. I think the only solution is to just ignore the member total. When people spread the word, it's always possible someone will sign up who will post. I guess we just have to get the word out as far as much as we can, and hope we get members interested in the forums aspect. The members who don't post don't contribute to the community but they also don't harm it.

Maybe this is something for an update Z and I are planning. We could add 'active member' totals, and separate 'active member leaderboards.'

I like that idea Pasta, I like it alot. I am tired of seeing my rank drop in my own city to someone that never even visits after the come register and go, but I guess you have to count your blessings.

At least the problem isn't the other way around where you have people flaming each other on a everyday basis like we did a while back (of course that person was perma-banned, we all know who we talking about). Then the forum wouldn't be a safe place and it would just be petty argument after petty argument.

I don't mind someone disagreeing with me as long as we do it civil and if everyone chatted in here that would never happen.

I post to this site more than I do the other sites I'm a part of. why? Community. This place has the same friendly feel as 360friendspot. Flaming is put out quickly and efficiently, and we're all free to joke around and you get to (somewhat) know other people so you can tell if they're flaming or just joking around. Like, I can call Ninja a stupid fag, and he and most people here will know I'm just joking around and there is no offense intended. The leaderboards are a lovely feature, but that's not all there is to this place.

I don't have a problem with the leaderboards, but maybe that's because I suck, I'm happy to get an achievement but I don't play games to get them, my boyfriend told me about this site, he doesn't 'post' much but he does come on almost everyday to read the news and check the forums, I used to post in the GamerChiX site a lot but I guess I'm too lazy since they moved it because this one is just a lot easier to reply to!

I don't really read too much of the gamerchiX forum. just every once in a while I'll make a thread there and such.
