I think this is a bad idea; it is good in Microsoft's point of view because now they will sell more memory cards, but I always thought the idea of a memory card was a good one. Get with the program Microsoft, put a 20GB harddrive on all Arcade models NOW! Solves your memory problem.

Microsoft Confirms Internal Memory for Arcade SKU
12/03/08 11:51 am | #1
Microsoft recently confirmed their intentions to move away from the bundled memory card that comes with the Xbox 360 Arcade SKU. In place of the 256MB memory card, the new version of the Xbox 360 Arcade will feature 256MB of integrated memory; that is, memory that is built onto the internal board of the 360.

lol isn't an arcade with a 20 gb drive then a premium? Oh right, they're changing it to 60... I need a 60 gb drive...
Yeah, the only difference between the Arcade and the Premium is the 20gb hard drive and it doesn't come with hd cables..
I sold my 20gb on eBay for 100 bux and bought a new 360 with a 60gb! Now I have plenty of room!!!!!

Slap a 20gb raise the price to 250$
Reduce the price of the arcade without a HDD to 150$
Because come on they should should just call it the Xbox 360 I don't want to wait 4 weeks to get a new xbox
So 250$ for 20GB
150$ for the Xbox 360 " Spare "

Thats the dumbest thing that they have done so far. What happens now? Especially when someone wants to take their profile or game saves somewhere.

I think all they are doing is not giving you a memory card, I don't think it means you can't still use one.......

Microsoft have confirmed that the Xbox 360 Arcade consoles will from now on be shipping with 256MB of memory fitted internally. In a statement made to Xbox 360 Fanboy, an unnamed Microsoft spokesperson described the move as part of constantly updating the consoles hardware, confirming that the new internal storage is the same size as the external memory cards that were previously supplied.
We are constantly updating the consoles more than 1700 internal components. We can confirm that we are moving to internal memory for the Xbox 360 Arcade. The physical internal memory is the same size as the previous external memory units - 256MB Microsoft spokesperson
The new memory was first spotted as part of the Jasper 65nm update. Xbox 360 Arcade consoles previously came with only 16MB inside the box, relying instead on a removable memory card; however the New Xbox Experience now requires more storage to load, and it seems this switch is in part an attempt to reduce errors where users lose their memory card or remove it an an untimely moment.
Of course, on the flip-side it means that new Xbox 360 Arcade buyers will not be able to take their saved games and downloaded content elsewhere, at least not as standard. The memory card is still available as an aftermarket accessory.
