Well thanks anyways everyone but I went and searched online for it and found it for 6.95$ with free shipping. Once I get it and transfer my stuff I will let someone have it as long as they keep it passed around our community.

Sweet! I'm getting ready to buy either the Elite or the MW2 edition 360. My 20 GB is almost all the way full, so I have to upgrade, and figure it's time to upgrade the 360 too.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW FOR PEOPLE BUYING AN ELITE

Ok I bought an elite recently, and did thorough research before hand. Make sure what ever you do, buy an Elite with a Jasper chip, and not a falcon or Zephyr chip in it. The Jasper runs quieter, and has had zero issues with the RROD. The others have issues with RROD.

This next bit of info is sickening. So in my research I found that most of the Elites that are bundled with games have the old chipsets. Some even had manufacturing dates back to 2007. Yet they had bundled games that came out in mid 2008. The reason was Microsoft was taking out the hardware from old xbox systems, and packaging them in elite cases.

They were putting nearly all Jasper chips into the Arcade version because they found them to be the fastest sellers. Up to when I purchased my elite, the only elites that had a Jasper chip was the Resident Evil collectors edition. I bought that one, and it runs like a beauty. Silent, you can't even hear it, and loads so quickly. The MW2 collectors edition has the Jasper chipset in it, but I know for a fact that most of the bundled elites don't. So beware! You may be purchasing a "new" elite, but it might be old stock from 2007.

How you can tell if it has a Jasper chip is on the box, there is a whole where the serial number is, on the actual console. They will scan this when you purchase it. Look and it will list the voltage of the machine. if it says 12,1A then its a jasper. If it says 12V 14,1 or 16,5 then it is a Falcon, and AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just checked my MW2 360, Jasper baby! Has the 12,1A. Manufacture date of 8-22-09.

That said, how do I get one of the transfer kits? Does MS offer one for free? I have to wait till xmas for the 360, so my kid's wont know that they get my current one until then. So I will have no problem waiting for the transfer kit from MS if they do it.

Sorry to disappoint you Pure, but the only way to get one of the transfer kits is to purchase the 120 GB HDD that is sold on it's own.

From everything I've read, the only chipset being used in new systems should be the Jasper. All of the collectors editions should be brand spanking new. The bundled Elites are the only ones I have found to have old manufacturing dates.

Still just for the sake of spending 400 bucks, check and make sure the voltage is correct for a Jasper on the back.

Actually Target was one of the stores that had old chipsets.

Its not the retailers fault, its MS's. Almost all the bundles with 2 random games, are most likely old chipsets. Atleast that was the case 4 months ago. With my own eye's I saw the old chipset voltage at a Target. I went everywhere, they all had the old chipsets. Best Buy, Gamestop, Toys R Us, Target, & Walmart.
