Gears of War Team Tourney Announced

At the end of XboxAmerica's Inside the Nexus Podcast Episode #2, it was announced that XboxAmerica (XbA) and GamingNexus would be co-sponsoring a Gears of War Team Tournament to be held on Saturday December 23rd exclusively for XboxAmerica and GamingNexus community members.

Specific details will be forthcoming when registration opens on December 1st, but the base info is a single-elimination, Team 3-on-3 tourney, with prizes going to to the winning team members. The tournament sign-up will be limited to the first 16 teams (48 players) with active Xbox Live Gold accounts. All tournament players will need to register at XboxAmerica as XbA will host and facilitate the tournament.

Sweet a GoW tournament!!

I love this game and am really good at it! look up my rank on the gears of war leader board. So for any one that wants to have some fun and mabe win this tournament lets get a team going!

We should be ok. It will be a self-governing tourney for the most part. Brackets will be listed with teams and times, team captains will be responsible for getting their teams and the game scenario set up and recording the scores.

Zapa, is there a mode where someone can observe the game in spectator mode (like when you die, you are in spectator mode) from the start?

I know there is not in ranked games, but I have not played a non-ranked game before so there might be.

and Pasta I think Mushroom might be on a team with me and if he is ok with it you could be are 3rd player.

I wanna do this badly! I hate to brag, but this is one game I kick ass in. We should have a tourny to host teams for this tourny...best 3 players get first team, last 3 get second team, etc. Anyone down?

We should all get a big game going tonight. Ill be on around midnight, and will be happy to host a match.

I don't think Zoboa will start the signups the first second of dec. first, it will probably start some time Mid-day. But I could be wrong.

Sign up is not 100% for sure set December 1st now. However, as soon as we know, we'll give the exact time and date.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

In the mean time, make sure you have your team set up and they've all registered on XboxAmerica. All members of your team must have registered at XboxAmerica, and provided their gamertag through the registration form, or user cp.

I need to talk to zoboa tonight to get the sign up straightened out.
