Ebay is certainly the way to go Shock; if you do trade a lot of games in and you ever are looking for cash (I know you said up above that you usually prefer store credit), you can usually get what the game is worth. I don't know how they get away with that crap: "Oh yea, I want to trade in this copy of Madden 09 that I just bought five days ago for 60 dollars." 'Oh okay...20 bucks!' It's not even a question of money, it's the principle of the whole thing. Money is no object to me, but if I'm getting burned by some dumb ass retail store, hell yeah I'm going to be pissed. Whether it's five bucks, or a fucking penny. Of course, I'm never one to shy away from a good fight either

I think since you don't know what to expect from a game you should wait until you can buy a used copy from gamestop and then within 7 days if you don't like it return it back to them.. it's better than renting because you get your money back and it's better than buying it new because it's basically going to be new since usually someone tries to sell back a game within the first two weeks, so i'd just wait it out.. especially since that will help save some $$ and it will let you know if you want to keep the game or not

Its sad that people have to leave the site because a few people feel the need to comment on every single post and then attack that person when they say something back. This isn't IGN or 3V this is Xba and a these few people need to back off.
Also the potty mouth and gross stuff is not funny. This is supposed to be a family friendly site and it seems like some people are just daring the Mods to do something. There are a lot of people who view the site but don't post in the forums. Some of those people are of a younger age and don't need to hear that crap.
If you like the site then act like it. Stick to with the spirit of the site that all are welcome to post in a responsible and constructive way that doesn't hurt or make fun of someone. This is not your personal web site, act like a member and not like you own the place.

If there is 10,000 gamestops and 2,000,000 Maddens, if half of those people take the game back, what is gamestop (as a chain business) going to do with the 100 copies per store? I know that it will never be as perfect as that, but say MN gets an over-abundance of that particular game, why would they pay anyboby more than they would make?
I'm not going to poke anyone's eyes out over this, but economics has not changed since one caveman wanted what another caveman had bad enough to give up the prey that he hunted for it!

Raine is correct, though. Trade-in values are never set in stone, and most Gamestops have been flooded with that PSP version of Madden, so that value is dropping because the stores can't sell them faster than people trade them in.
I rarely trade-in games anymore. I will always go the route of Craigslist first, then eBay, then trade-in. You will get more value for your product by doing it this way, especially with Craigslist since you don't pay anything for posting the advertisement.
Anyhow, to the OP: You didn't get ripped off. You went to a store that is following the simple rules of "Supply and Demand". There is far too much supply and not enough demand.
