If you keep having issues with your 360 going down then the MS repair center will offer you some compensation. On top of a month of Live they restart your warranty and if you have enough systems go down the offer you a gift as well, I just got a free Live Vision kit for my trouble. Pretty much told the supervisor that this was my 5th system since launch, the last one I sent in didn't even last a month and I was upset, also told her that I wanted Bill Gates's email and threw in that I don't have these problems with Nintendo or Sony, that really gets them. But they have a pretty large large list of things to pick from, the games to choose from are very few though....

It's not just MS that offers you compensation. Gamestop has promised me the next time my system hits the fritz, I will receive an Elite in return because it will be my SIXTH system.
Re: Gamer screwed over by MS Repair Center.
Heres my trouble that i had with the repair centre this guy isnt the only person who has had bother you will not belive this but here goes. And yes i have kept all Original UPS receipts and everything ms sent me including Customer Reference numbers

I got the three red lights message and error 74. I called up customer support and called ups after receiving the Labels. I sent the console of and four weeks go by and the console returns.

I connected all the cables firmly and the console would not even power on. I then rang up customer support and they told me they would send another power supply. 5 days later thats nearly 5 weeks in total the power supplie arrives and still no power into the console. The console was sent back to me from the repair centre in havant not even working.

At this point i am furious and call customer support to which they tell me " Send us the power supply we sent you and we will send you another new one" So they tried to scam me into paying for shipping to send them a power supply for them to send me a new one even though its obvious to anyone its not the power supplie. Its like they are trying to avoid another repair bill since i was covered under a 3 year warranty. If they had fixed it properly then i wouldnt of gone threw this.

At this point again i am enraged as the console is at fault and not the power supplie. Eventually i went onto the http://service.xbox.com site and created a repair order with a message saying i was considering contacting BBC Watchdog and going public with the trouble i had. UPS came out again and took the 360 away and now this is 6 weeks without a working console. I also included a polite letter to the Shipping manager explaining the problem with all the reference numbers i had been given and asked him to check the console would power on with a standard power supply before they sent me the console back.

8 weeks later another Xbox 360 comes back but this is a new system and a new dvd rom drive had been fitted. Since then the console has worked and i have had no problems. It took 8 weeks to get my 360 repaired and now i see why everyone is buying a playstation 3. I did a video about this on my youtube channel and thousands of people viewed my video and all agreed that was well out of order.

Anyone else had this kind of bother

I would also like to warn others getting there console repaired to keep a record of all customer reference numbers you are given and to keep all letters that MS send you as proof incase you get any problems.

After being told over the phone by support it would take 20 days to repair the console and it didnt it took double that.

I did get a new console sent back and two 1 month gold cards. Customer support told me that they only sent out reconditioned units back from repair when i asked if i could have a new one.

Why have MS not been given a huge fine over this?

yea actually i have. i sent in my 360
it came back 2 weeks later.
got it back. it was crazy loud.
tried to ignore it.
it worked for a week.
then i went to school that monday.
didnt play during the week.
tried to play on that friday.
and every disk was "unplayable"
sent it back.
waiting for it now.
i gave them a mouthful when i emailed them explaining everything i had tried.
and they sent me that stupid, do this this and this email, which is what i told them i had tried.
between that and they wouldnt let me send the box that the first xbox came back in.
also. when ups went to deliver the box to microsoft, they apparently, "requested delivery at a later date"
i mean what the heck?

But.... am I the only one who thinks this is SUCH huge overkill? I mean if you look at some of the sigs... a chick from the PMS clan? Are girls so rare where he lives that THAT qualifies as an autograph? If I were heading up bungie he would have gotten a Halo poster with sigs...

He got two bundles of goodies, one from Bungie, and one from Microsoft.

The package from MS included a signed console with more original artwork, and included signatures of Bill Gates, other MS execs, Major Nelson and members of the Gamerscoreblog.

Overkill, yes. But from a PR standpoint, MS and Bungie just completely made out like bandits...
Re: Gamer screwed over by MS Repair Center.
PSORaine explain why MS sent me a console back that was supposed to be repaired that did not even power on. And all xbox 360s are covered by a 3 year warranty. Did you see the announcement made by peter moore im guessing not.

And can you explain why i would be told to try a new power supply when it was the console. Funny how the second time i sent it it came back working when i wrote and asked them to check it would power on. And the fact customer support asked me to send in the power supply they sent me for them to send me another one is proof they are trying to make me pay shipping when this was covered under the warranty. Microsoft have been on the BBC's Watchdiog program you can even check youtube to verify this. Listen to the peoples problems on that program and tell me im lying

Hell if need be i could post the original reports from them and all the customer reference numbers with the ups recpeipts to confirm they have had to collect it twice.

When a console is supposed to be repaired it should work when it comes back but guess what it didnt. And why they asked me to try new power supplies when it was not even that astounds me.
