The first online achievement that need to go is 1st best #1 at anything. Once they take that out you will see a marked improvement in the quality of your game. This will get rid of the worst of the boosters and you will most likely be playing with people that want to actually "PLAY" the game.

reverendmeta, what was the point of insulting me???? Why are people in this community so ignorant of any opinion not thiers, I came on and said my opinion, and people have trashed me for no reason, instead of giving me a reason for disagreeing(like zoboa and even TK did, even though TK totally misunderstood what I was saying) but you insult me for no reason, then meg says this is a good community, it was once, but not anymore, a good community is open to all opinions, a good community doesn't insult people for no reason, when I was the community spotlight, this was a good community, but now people get insulted for having a different opinon. 360voice.com is an exellent example of a real good community,, its sad that it had to come to this.

Warning to those with attention-span deficits: this ended up being really freaking long.
Whoa whoa there buddy, I didn't insult you, I just said cry more and gtfo if you don't like it. Even that was partially in jest as noted by the little guy up by the thread title on my response.
I bear you no ill will, you do what you want, I believe everyone should have the option and ability to do anything they want, be it game saving or robbing banks or severing people's spinal columns. I feel that way because if no one is going to stop them or take measures to keep it from affecting them, then it isn't "wrong" except by arbitrary standards or ethics shared by a community. I'm of the line of thinking that it would be cool if everyone on the planet had 1 gun and 1 bullet for it, it would be peace and justice and some minor brutality all in one convenient package.
BUT, that being said, I do think people that use gamesaves don't belong on the official leaderboards or any other leaderboards unless like there was one made FOR gamesavers. It IS against the rules apparently, and Microsoft whatever team is taking some small measures to discourage it, so that means they consider it "wrong" and expect the rest of the community to abide & adhere. Again, it's one of those deals where if you don't like it, gtfo. Boosting is one thing, but people have to agree to it usually and it's still 'earning' an Achievement (technically) whereas using someone else's gamesave isn't. And if you did the work and got the Achievement yourself, then what's the point of uploading it to a spot for other people to grab it?
As far as there being some Achievements solely for the 'hardcore' gamers, and casual ones only being able to get about 500 per game or half, that's terrific you have that opinion. I can actually see the weight behind it, it would enhance the idea of Achievements being trophies and not progress meters or who can rent the most games or has the most time to play. I think arguments of that type are moot, though, because in my opinion a game developer should be able to do whatever the hell they want with Achievements, just as any other area of the game, and be willing to deal with the consequences. Sure it may torque the hardcore off that Avatar is an easy thousand, but I don't see the problem. It just means that anyone who values/enjoys Gamerscore and has a rental place nearby will have 1000 more points. In a system that is what like over 300,000 right now, 1k isn't a huge deal. On top of that, there ARE some pretty good "tough" Achievements with tangible rewards for the folks that want their 'hardcore gamer' lifestyle validated, like that neat gamerpic you get for "Seriously..." in Gears or that one that I think is for getting everything in Ass's Creed? Or the katana in Halo.
I'm not ignorant of your opinion--you explained it fairly well, I believe, especially in responding to others. I just don't agree with it and above all else I think you and your ilk are violating a sort of unspoken agreement in the spirit of this community.
The obvious other side to your argument is that there is a LARGE amount of the "Live community" that often only has an hour or two to devote to gaming a day, maybe like 5 on a weekend. So all of a sudden they have less than 1% chance of ever "completing" certain titles (with regards to Gamerscore/Achievements) because there is no way in hell they can compete with the kids that get dumped at gaming centers, after school from 2pm-midnight 5 days a week, sitting on T1 connections.
I agree with you that 360v is awesome, Evil Avatar is another place I like to go, it's all sorts of gaming news but with very snarky and opinionated folks who like to yell at each other and be brutally honest and yet threads stay civil 99% of the time so it works surprisingly well. Xbox America isn't necessarily like that, it's specifically about the 360 with the added bonus of the state rankings and a game library.
So where does that leave people that like to download Achievements? It leaves them QQ and gtfo. That's my opinion.

yea repo everyone gets their own opinion.
as for u Diamondcut20, i will get to the point. u put "then meg says this is a good community, it was once, but not anymore", you are NOT forced to be here, u have the freedom to leave whenever you wish. So before you continue to put up retarded replies think before you type.
and TK did not misunderstand what you were saying, you just obviously cant get your thoughts together. And i for one don't really care what others think, even if it is only their opinion, just because everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it does not mean that their opinion should be taken into account, not everyones opinion matters.
and that isn't just this forum, its life.

I have met some really nice people here. No one here has made me feel unwelcome or that my opinions aren't valid. I don't go to many forums or social sites. The free exchange of ideals and information is what makes this community great (for me anyways ) .

we DO NOT need easy achievments, they ruin gamerscore challenges and leagues, achievments should be a reward for the hardcore fans of the game, they should be the only ones completing these games, they should reflect skill, no need to baby them. Boosting isn't cheating if the community is dead, its the only option, its only cheating if there is a good sized community
well.. why did you play Avatar? if it was EASY ACHIEVEMENTS THAT YOU despise so much, why did you go waste your time and play it for those two minutes to get all the achievements????????? I'm sure once you got them you didn't keep playing the game

HaHaHa!!! Sometimes big kids do too. Like when they have had way to much to drink, and can't hit the side of a barn in a shooter. (CoD4) And I also think that this is a great community that diamond is also a part of. Through these posts and replies I think I have come to understand his thoughts a little better. The comment that "know one wants to play with you" was a bit below the belt, and uncalled for. For know I will agree to disagree and let it stand at that. Wow, all of us acting like adults......except for Meg, she's just mean spirited and wants to attack people!!! LOL, JUST KIDDING

I must represent a small portion of the XBL Community because I enjoy getting achievements online. Seriously is my greatest achievement, not because I got 10,000 kills legit and about 96% of the time while not hosting, but because I was able to dedicate myself and hone my craft to a level beyond the average gamer. My reward was more than 50 GS and a pic, it was respect (sure some showed it by cussing me out and claiming I had no life) but those who really played Gears knew I went through my trials and made it out on the other side. I might just have some complex that makes me want to be the best (me) I can be, even if its in a game, but isn't competition what makes us who we are? Did I hurt a lil inside when I found people glitching Seriously? You damn right I did, pissed me off, but you know what, it can't take anything away from me unless I let it. So for me, Achievements never lost value, it's quite the opposite, it just puts me and others who put time/energy/money into gaming in a smaller yet more exclusive club.

first of all i want to congratulate u for having the patience to get the 10k kills, something i knw i would never do since i would probly lose my patience and throw the controller at the wall and break it (again).
Its nice to see that some people still value hard work and patience toward accomplishing a goal, i can understand why someone would glitch to get the 10k, but still they dont deserve it nor earned it. its too bad, that there isnt a way to permanently and completely get rid of all glitchers and boosters from XBL.
