FOOTBALL(SOCCER) IS ANOTHER GREATEST SPORT IN THE WORLD IT REQUIRES A LOT OF STAMINA AND SKILL WHICH TO SAY IN TRUTH< AMERICANS DONT HAVE, AND THERFORE, DO NOTPLAY IT. I JUST MADE CHELSEA FC YOUTH SQUAD AFTER 11 YEARS OF HARD TRAINING AND FITNESS AND I WILL SOON HAVE THE POUNDS(WHICH DESTROYS US DOLLARS) FLOWING TO ME. BTW, DID I MENSION BECKHAM IS IN THE STATES ONLY FOR THE CASH?? MOST OVERRATED PLAYER IF U ASK ME, IDIDNT THINK ANYONE WOULD BE DUMB ENOUGH TO OFFER HIM THAT KIND OF CONTRACT. IL SAY I'M EVEN BETTER THAN BECKHAM IN MY CURRENT FITNESS SHAPE AND CLUB TRAINING DOSNT EVEN START TILL NEXT WEEK.

Its only talk and at least we Americans are smart enough NOT to kill each other as fans over players and a sport that would still go on even if we didn't watch it just because someone else's we met doesn't like the same team we do.

I never said anything about soccer. Soccer is hands down the most international sport we have today. People riot and beat each other up over it because of this. Its not like state vs state or city vs city, but country vs country. I mean, people have went in the streets and flipped cars and went crazy over ohio state games alone. Its a much higher scale. I like it because it has spirit, much more than the NFL could ever give. Mind you, I will always be sold on college football for the rest of my life. When you don't make millions, you'll have fun playing for your team!

I thought that most of the 250 mill was for endorsements, etc. I don't think that the Galaxy are paying him that much.

I'm a huge soccer fan, and I'm excited to see Beckham here. But, here's the thing. All of the "higher ups" are hoping that Beckham will make soccer more popular in the US. I want soccer to be popular too, but I don't think Beckham is the man to do that. He is a spectacular player, without doubt, but to the layperson, that doesn't KNOW soccer, he just looks like another guy kicking the ball. To people that really KNOW soccer, his touch and accuracy are amazing, but he's not a guy that burns by people and scores tons of goals that are highlight worthy on sportscenter. His free kicks are almost second to none, so those may help, but for the most part, he's a play-setter-upper, not a playmaker. It's gonna be tough to sell Americans on soccer as a popular sport, because most people don't realize that a 1-0 game can be just as exciting as a 4-3 game, if the play on the field is good. (reference the English Premier League, not the MLS, for GOOD soccer)
