Cell Phones

My family has been looking to replace our aged cell phones for about half a year now. We're currently with Cingular, and have a variety of different prehistoric LG phones. We've had a horrible experience with our LG phones and I've heard of some other LG horror stories as well. Anyone have any recommendations on which phone to get?

If in the next month or so we still haven't gotten new phones, I might consider the iPhone. We get fair-poor coverage in some places around here with Cingular, but if the iPhone becomes any more appealing, I might just have to take the dive and buy one.

iPhone aside, Verizon appears to have the most coverage in our area.

Anyone but Cingular. Try Sprint or Verizon. Go into any storefront and they will be all over you like dogs on raw meat offerring you phones, minutes and so forth.

even though the Iphone is awesome I think Z is right about Cingular(sucks) and that is the only company that is offering the Iphone

My wife has Cingular and she has reception problems all the time here in Columbus, and when she goes into the rural areas she loses her signal constantly.

here in california there are huge reception problems with cingular too (in a city with 1,000,000+ people). i think verizon might be your best bet

And remember kids.. Cingular is the new AT&T... or is it at&t or SBC or Ohio Bell or Ameritech? (Old person joke)

I have Cingular in the Dayton area and it is doing fine for me. I used to have Verizon, but didn't like the service plan choices a few years ago, so I switched.

My wife and I own the Samsung Syncs and my friend owns the Sony Erricson phone. I think when it comes to phones anymore, it all depends on what bells and whistles you want with it - ie. MP3, Camera, Bluetooth, etc.

I want an alright camera, and some internet goodies. For example, the main features that attracts me to the iPhone are the easy browsing in safari w/ the multi touch display, and the text voicemail interface.

I'd also like whatever phone I get to support third party applications (major turn-off for the iPhone).

I got Cincinnati Bell. It's great, I got a black RAZR unlocked with no contract for $80. The plan prices are good, but if you go over (at least on internet - personal experience) they will charge you like a biiatch. I like it better than T-Mobile.
