It depends
People look at boosting as taking the fun away of the game but some people who really want GS will boost
I personally could care less about boosting

everybody's doin' it man...... here's my thoughts-it's not gamesaving which is just ridiculous, all that proves is that you have a big ego but are too lazy to put in the time, effort, or fun to actually play the game. if you're going to gamesave, why even be associated with gaming at all.
boosting on the other hand is actually work putting in towards the game and sometimes can be more trouble than its worth so i see nothing wrong with it. however, i don't feel the need to boost if the games online community is still relevant, so i won't do it unless it is a last resort to getting multiplayer achievements. you kind of feel dirty, but it's better than having a bad completion ratio for a game with a dead online experience.

I had to boost Timeshift and Prey, oh and some NBA Homecourt with Evol - I think that is literally all I have boosted and only the online achievements and because it was freaking impossible to find people to play with................ I would like to boost turning point but I can't even FIND boosters LMAO!
I think its only good to boost when you literally can't get the achievement otherwise - like no online players for the game..... or something absolutely ridiculous
Gamesavers suck

There's nothing wrong with it, but I haven't done it.
Damn that sounds like what I heard some kid telling his friend about weed today at work

LOL this thread brings a smile to my face.
there's nothing really wrong with boosting, depending on the game.
i don't care about my GS, but like others have said, completing certain games (getting all the cheevies) sometimes requires boosting.
i don't think anyone's played prey online since like the first week it was out.
i totally boosted that shit.
it might be a little cheap, but it's certainly not cheating.
especially when you have no other choice.

The only time that I think boosting is bad, is when it ends up ruining the experience for parties that are not involved in the boost.
It is not OK when someone gets on Gears 1, for instance, and hogs the power weapons in a regular match to get the achievement. On the other hand, if said booster finds a match comprised of only other boosters then there is no problem.
That is why I think the there should be few, if any, online achievements. Call of Duty 4 did a great job with this in my opinion. All of the achievements were campaign based, and the multiplayer experience was engaging enough that it didn't need achievements. That kept boosters and whores from ruining the online experience for others.
I would like to see other games follow the example. It keeps both sides happy, and everyone gets what they want from their game. Win-win!

I think achievements should be alot like Bioshocks were. They weren't impossible some took a little more time but all in all if you went through the entire game you were able to get most or all of them.
I hate games that you can spend 20-30 hours on and you look up and you have 22 out of 49 achievments for a total of 220 points.

I agree with this.
I think it would be great if there was a percentage of the full 1000 that any type of gamer could get. Say 500 points or so in a game if you are able to get completely through. 800-900 for people who put a significant effort into it. The full 1000 for people who are the best of the best.
This would funnel down as well. What I mean is that if you play a game made for children, an adult would have no problem getting 1000. Conversely, if you are an RPG master, even if you pick up a racing game, you should be able to pick up around 500 points or so. (if you put some effort into it.)
I know that it is impossible for developers to plan this out, but I think that would be ideal!

I hate online achievements. I have a friend who had his 360 since launch but lived in a place where broadband wasn't available, so he couldn't get any obviously. And now my 'box is fucked up and won't accept any codes so I'm screwed there too.

i've made many of these exact points on xbox.com!
i hate online achievements, and i think companies should look at COD4's MP.
you still get stats and bragging rights and what not, so why throw in cheevies?
it's not fair for people who can't play online.
not to mention most online achievements are grind achievements that take more time than skill. bogus. congrats to anyone here who got "seriously" but i was extremely dreading the game by 7K kills and just couldn't play it anymore.
