I'd like to give major props to "The Darkness," though. The multiplayer is pretty broken on it, but the single player was pretty awesome. It was the perfect game to get me through the dreaded "summer drought" of games. Had some of the best voice acting ever, in my opinion. It basically turns you into a powerful videogame boss and says, "go reek havoc." Good stuff!

I, too, think that BioShock was a great game. I assume it'd get "Best of Summer" for me, although I didn't play it until after summer had ended. It's got a lot of great things about it, but it also really gets me frustrated that this game was looked upon so highly while "Prey" (2k's game from last year) was more or less given a "meh." Both games are extremely similar in terms of gameplay.

Bioshock is the best game of the summer. And, it will be in the running for game of the year although COD 4 and Halo 3 will beat it.

Exactly my point! As for The Darkness, yeah, the multiplayer is pretty bad, but that was an amazing single player game; from graphics and story to voice acting.

Well the Darkness has/had some issues, and so did/does Prey. The Darkness is kind of a cult hit.

For me the game of the summer was Blue Dragon, I really enjoyed it and got over 100 hours of playtime out of it. Coming in at a close seond it would be Bioshock then The Darkness, Two Worlds and Forza 2 taking the 3-5 spots respectively.
