I'm hoping Assassin's Creed II takes place in a modern setting with more elaborate tasks.

I love Assassin's Creed but I think it could be a lot better. There could've been so much more to the cities than there are. Every "Save the Citizen" scenario is exactly the same. I love the controls and the abilities of the character but the tasks are boring and tedious.

yeah, i did every mission in every town, except for the templar assassinations.
overall, it was a class game, but I couldnt help but draw comparisons to crackdown, and not just in the way you move along rooftops. the mission structure (or lack thereof) is very much the same. Kill 'X' in 'Y' and go to 'Z'. Pretty much rinse and repeat. I loved the movement and the graphics were very nice. What this game needed was some more rpg elements such as more dialog with citizens, item gathering, and more battles and assasinations.
If I had to stamp a grade on it, I would give it a B+.

The game isn't perfect, but is fun to play. Just need one more kingdom flag and its on top of a piller in the roman ruins. Have any of you been able to get that one. If so please tell.

yeah you drop down from the one pillar that is higher up and kick off of it towards the one with the flag and you should land on it or have to hit the B button and grab the ledge it may take a few tries to get the accuracy down but thats how i did it after trying to run and jump

This game was a complete waste of space.
It was overhyped immensely.
It contains boring reptitive gameplay.
I've never seen a game with such potential flop so hard.

wow it makes me wonder what game they slipped in your game case cause i cant see how anyone would not even respect the storyline...how there was a 3rd apple from the garden of Eden????? cmon man have some class and apreciation for alot of peoples hard work and all that time put together for you to call it a waste of space??? how old are you cause this game wasnt meant for a younger crowd it was meant for the young adult to adult crowd cause it takes some history knowledge for the game to really hit home...this game conflicts with the bible and all history from that time period and its awesome cause no one really knows what happened back then and these guys are one of few who put a twist on it and i love the game for it...dont think im like calling you out or something midgit i just find it crazy that someone could dislike this game as much as you do

I'm with SNEAK on this one. I think the back story has a helluva lot of potential, but the storyline that you actually play and participate in, in addition to the repetitious tasks make this game one of the worst flops I've ever seen.

Bought it when it released, finally getting around to playing thru it and so far having a blast as I killed my first assassin earlier, the stealth kill was beautiful, can say I'm pretty much hooked to this till I finish it. Good stuff and having a blast playing thru it

Duh!! I forgot about the B button to grab the ledge. Thanks Racist....I'm just taking the game for what it is. I can play and just chillout after work, pop a few beers and go pissoff some a-hole's and get in a big ass sword fight. I read some place that there are two dozen kill scenes but I have't that many yet. Anyway here is something printed in GI dec. issue.
Top ten forgotten tenets of the Assassin's Creed
10. Learn to swim
9. Pushing lunatics into market stalls is hilarious
8. Always inspect rooftops for structural integrity
7. The phrase "please, sir, I need the money"
really means " stab me in the neck "
6. Get immunized against hay-born pathogens
5. Your ring fingers are valuable. Keep them at all costs
4.Sword, knives, and daggers should not be worn conspicuously over one's clothing
3. Try to have descendants who have a shot at scoring with Kristen Bell
2. Flags are important historical markers. Under no circumstance should you move or collect them
1. It's ok to kill people who overemphasize the "ass" in "assassin"

Funny story about how I got my copy of Assassins. I bought COD4 at circuit city and you were supposted to get COD3 for free, but of course it was sold out. So long story short put my name on a list and got a thirty dollar credit towards any game.
