AMAZEMENT and Dissapointment

Well I went to Project Mayhem today (Slipknot Disturbed Mastadon Dragonforce + more) And I was BLOWN AWAY by Disturbed and when Slipknot came on and did their encore the drummer was on a rotating drumset that GOT VERTICAL. I was honestly expecting alot more from Dragonforce but when they played TTFAF it sounded like the worst live performance ive EVER heard. The tuning was so off didnt sound ANYTHING like the actual recorded song. Disturbed\'s stange prescense was like SO F***ING AMAZING and they sounded like it was just a studio recording it was just that good live.

Really Dragonforce was that bad live? I never really liked them so... But I saw on Disturbed's website about this and I was thinking about getting tickets, but I decided not to. But I'm glad you had fun.

Dragonforce does not sound good live because in the studio they just lay track over track over track of guitar which they are not able to recreate live, that is why I do not like them...and they sound like Pokemon music.

Yeah they sounded horrible live i was not impressed at all. Disturbed on the other hand sounded so good it was like listening to a CD of theirs playing on concert speakers

Sounds cool dude.
Disturbed and Slipknot would have probably been my two favorite in that list, with dragonforce at the bottom.

I've seen a lot of bands that just can't pull off the live experience! That doesn't mean they suck or are not talented!
There is so much that goes into putting on a live show, and if one thing goes wrong, it can throw off an entire set. All bands use studio overdubbing. That's how CDs sound so rich and full, and that is not available live. Plus for multiband shows, the sound is set up for the headliner with only modest tweaking for the rest of the acts forcing them to use a sound set that they are not accoustomed to. Otherwise there would be 2-3hrs. between bands.

^evol just owned ye all, stfu and gtfo
Call them cheaters all you want but there are very few bands that go in to a studio and don't "cheat" by polishing up their songs, multi-tracking, etc. That's why you go in to a studio in the first place, to lay down shiny versions of your songs that will sell.
How was Mastodon, crusified? I didn't even know they were on the bill. The show comes here this Sunday so I'll holler about what I liked and didn't.
