2012 GS Tournament Discussion Thread

Here is a place in order to discuss any ideas you guys may have on a tournament for 2012 on Xbox America. The 2011 Partner GS Tournament was a good tournament with plenty of controversy, drama, and waffles. If you have any ideas you have for it here we can discuss and talk about good ones. Note: This is actually so we have an idea rolling so that we can get this ready and have signups soon so we can have a huge tournament in 2012.

My thoughts:
-Tourney should be lead by 2 people to better maintain scores and competitors.
-No offline playing, all achieves need to be tagged online. If happens on accident (maybe 1 or 2 achieves) then let tourney heads know immediately.
-No outside input or judging from tourney competitors. If you don't like the decisions, then quit.
-No dirty tactics. Meaning no misleading posts, lying about scores, dressing like nacho libre, etc.
-No name calling, arguing or fighting on XBA forums or on Live. If you wanna act like children, then quit the tourney.
-No more fallout 3 pc allowed! No Avatar TBE allowed! Earn some real points, not 2min 1k achieve games.
-No windows phone achieves should be allowed in the comp. Not everyone has or can afford these devices or might not have access. Should give everyone an even playing field.
These are just initial thoughts.

I know right.
Got tired of seeing everyone running around with their shirts off wearing capes.

I can agree on all points but the two bolded ones.
Avatar may be cheap and may or may not even be considered actually playing, but it is a game. To hell with fallout pc. I have used fallout, but I agree that it is more using your computer to add points to your gamerscore when needed than playing and is unfair in a competition scenario.
As for the phone deal, you say it evens the playing field except for the fact that it effectively eliminates anyone with a wp7 from being able to join. They are available to anyone who chooses to get one. Saying they are unfair is like saying I can't go to gamestop and spend $500 on used games because everyone else doesn't have $500 to spend.

Avatar IS unfair in a competition scenario. Why allow games that make a competiton useless? I say make everyone work for their achievements, not just mash the b button for a couple of second for an easy 1k.
And I am not a fan of an extra device being allowed such as a windows phone in a competition either. For those that have them, if you have a problem, then purchase one for everyone in the comp and it will be okay. And I'm sure you will argue about pc use, most people have computers and can run an older windows live game such as sf4 pretty easily. Even the most basic pc can run an older live game on low settings okay.
Anyways, not up for being fair this coming year. I won't let my time be wasted again like in this most recent comp.

Really??
Ok then, if we are going to be fair on this near communist level, I'll make sure to get rid of my Kinect as well. Of course you know when you go out and buy a new game, you're going to have to get a copy for everyone else too. Too expensive? Ok then. How about we just decide on 50 games that will be allowed and we see how many points we can get out of those titles only.
Of course it goes without saying that everyone who enters is going to have to start a new gamertag because we don't want this to get unfair!
2012 Communist Gamerscore Challenge!
I could go on because I'm a total dickhead, but I won't. This year's competition had problems because there were unforeseen issues that weren't covered by rules. It can be just as bad to smother the next one with too many rules.

No unemployed people also.
I work 60 hours a week. That's an unfair advantage over me.

No, everyone is going to have to quit their jobs- otherwise having an income is an unfair advantage.

And its because of attitudes like yours evol, that made the comp suck for 2011. You shape and shift everything to you and your wifes advantage (hell if I'm even talking to you evol, I'm sure melissa posts under you). if you can't hang with a little bit of rules then don't compete, simple as that.
Besides, I only made suggesions and am in no position to host my own comp. If some of my suggestions get chosen then cool, if not, oh well. Quit taking stuff so seriously, we have 3 months to hash out whatever.
I am just looking for the most pure, competitive atmosphere for the next year. No loose ends or anything for the next comp. Meaning less drama, less questions asked, and more gamerscore earned.
