I don't think anyone is really bitching about the price increase itself, more about the fact that MS is doing it without really "adding value" to XBL.

I think if they had waited to do this after Kinect and ESPN stuff was out, the community in general would be a little cooler about it.

The part that was kind of funny, though, was that in the official PR releases they didn't even really try to spin it. They basically said "Xbox Live is the best online service out there, we're raising rates a little bit, gamers will be willing to pay it because it's the best." in slightly different words.

This increase in price is just fucking ridiculous, as stated before they aren't adding any special new features or deals or SHIT.. they are just hungry for money, and i cant stand it, they have horrible customer service, as well as the people running MS.

if you compare xbl gold to ps3 plus, its the same price(for the time being) but look at how much more sweet shit you get with ps3 plus!!! constant deals, free games movies you name it, and whats even better about that is they update it almost every week.

Until they do something similar to that, and dont tell me XBL deal of the week is the same(because its not, not even close, they give you shitty content)

I'm locking myself into the 39.99 a year deal, because I'm not sure if Amazon will still sell 12 month subscriptions at 38.99 anymore after the increase.

EXACTLY! Kinda makes me feel like a retard for going on the ps3 forums and talking smack about how much better Xbox Live is. And if these companies like EA starts paying to play games online, then yeah, it's gonna get too expensive to keep up. I could actually see myself just sticking with my PS3 as my new favorite. Wow...never thought I'd say that!

November 1st is still over a month away. The ESPN thing is supposed to drop late October or early November. If you want to save some coin, you could buy the XBOX Live card over at Amazon.com; not the game code, thats still full price, but the card that gets mailed to you. Especially if you buy lots of games from them, I get my XBOX Live 12 months card for like $10 with all the discounts I get from ordering games that I play from them. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if people can't afford another 10 bucks (A YEAR!!!!!!), you may need to rethink your life plans.... They offer a premium service for fairly cheap (I'm looking at you cell phones, cable tv and internet).

Will the ESPN deal only be available for certain providers?

See, they already do ESPN 3 online but you have to be with a certain Broadband provider that has paid ESPN the Hostage money. So with this $10 increase will it cover that fee and I can watch it on XBL whether or not I have a ISP that provides access to ESPN 3?

that's about the only thing that will piss me off about this price increase. If I can't get ESPN on XBL even though I'm paying the extra money, I think some CS rep will get an ear full.

*sigh* Here, I've set aside ten bucks for next years Xbox live. I hope I can afford to eat for the next year!? I hope Grandma doesn't need a new kidney! I just don't know what I'd do if I needed that extra ten bucks. My life is ruined...I'm gonna march right into to Bill Gates office with my COD night vision goggles and demand to know why I must work one half of an hour extra a year to afford live. And then when he explains to me that it's the best possible gaming service ever then I'll will promptly say to him: "You sir are a god damned genius"! Then turn around and march straight out the door but not before I steal a life size spartan statue from the Microsoft lobby! Thank you XBox live for giving me days if not months of online gaming with my friends!

Now stop crying kids and go ask mummy and dada for a raise in your allowance!
