For those of you that have always wanted to perform your very own dragon shout, but haven't in order to avoid the disappointment at the fact that it wouldn't do anything but solidify the fact that you're a raging nerd (I am in this group), then rejoice as Bethesda has announced that Skyrim will receive official support for the Kinect. FUS RO DAH!
The integration of the Kinect will be part of a free update coming out later in the month. Along with the ability to issue dragon shouts, the update will also add 200 voice commands to hotkey equipping and all menu navigation. It will also feature the ability to command your counterparts using voice controls. Not enough for you? Bethesda has you covered, as new functionality is also being added to ease players into the use of Kinect. This new functionality includes special map functions, more hotkey options, and even the ability to sort inventory items by name, weight, and/or value. Check out the trailer to see what is in store for you:
Now, free updates are always good, but some of you may be asking where the DLC is? Well, the first DLC for Skyrim is a timed Xbox 360 exclusive, and Bethesda's press release had this to say on the subject:
(Bethesda Game Studios) has been hard at work on creating the first set of game add-ons that will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft...This additional content will add new quests, locations, features, and much more to the world of Skyrim...Stay tuned, we hope to officially announce what it is soon.
Certainly a great day to be a Skyrim fan! I have not really made use of any Kinect-integrated features in either Halo: Anniversary or Mass Effect 3, but I just may be tempted to give it a whirl in Skyrim.

I can see Meta doing this. Is that wrong?
Honestly, I would freaking love to sit in front of my TV yelling, "FUS! Ro DAH!" at the top of my lungs, but I don't have the space for a Kinect and my roommates would pummel me in my sleep.
If and when I do finally break down and get a Kinect, I will make it a point to try this.

to tell the truth as much as i dislike the kinect i was a little jealous of the kinect owners after watching the demo on XBL.
The demo had so many commands programed in,i mean even the hot keying commands were voice, my hats off to the people at Bethesda they made a kinect support i want very badly (want a kinect)

So, if you had a Kinect and used it to play any of the games that require movement on your part, does that mean you would be getting metaphysical?
