Agreed...the stories in many games bore me and stop me from playing them. This one is right up my alley. Just let me play a game. If I want a story I'll read a book.
There's no reason why a shooter's single player campaign can't have a decent, coherent storyline with a climactic ending. Especially if it's a game with a wide-open environment like Borderlands. You should get something out of all that running around. Some sense of accomplishment when finishing it. If all you want is nonstop mindless action and killing, that's what multiplayer is for.
That's your opinion. I don't care at all about the storyline and they make plenty of money off people like me. If you're looking for story...this isn't the game for you.

Wow....really started getting into the main campaign last night after making it to WellSpring for the first time. I can see how people get turned off by the game at first since you are basically going through a long series of tutorial missions. Actually, it's probably a bit too long if you ask me.
Get to WellSpring and now you have your buggy, access to the mini-games and races, and a whole bunch of new characters to meet and greet. I didn't want to quit and go to bed. I would say that Rage is like Borderlands +. The jury is still out on how much + it will add.
Achievements seem to be coming really slow or this game is much bigger than I've framed it out to be in my mind.
Hit me up if anyone wants to do some Wasteland Legends this weekend.

I'm really trying to like this game, but for some reason I just can't get into it. It just doesn't suit me I guess.

I did, but I lost so much interest that I don't even feel like going back and doing the DLC

Well I beat Rage early this morning and can say I am truly pissed with id for the most anti-climatic, no boss fight, no major battle at the end. Worthless ending and not worth any effort of playing the game.
Other than that, Rage has been extremely fun and has been a gorgeous game to look at. It had awesome control with all weapon and situations. Not to mention has a very fun racing setup which felt pretty spot on. The card game was fun to play, strum minigame for my rock band needs, and five finger filet being the most difficult minigame available, but still good to waste time on. All in all, I was happy through the entire game.
Everything was done right but seemed to really slow down as you approached the end. Some missions just being the same thing as before but with a different end scenario.
All in all, I give this game an 8.5 due to the positive graphical and gameplays aspects and to the lack of a better ending and lack of unique missions. Game could have been longer too.

Oh how I wish I had a pc that could run rage at full performance. That would be so sweet.
