Gears of War 3 Reward System

If you are a loyal Gears of War player, you may be able to unlock some of the rewards announced for playing the newest installment, Gears of War 3. It was announced in December that players will receive rewards for playing other Epic games. The executive producer let some of the reward unlocks for Gears of War 3 slip, such as chrome skins and gold weapon skins. These skins do not offer any competitive advantages to the player, but it does offer an epic appearance. The skins will be unlocked based off of achievements, which will reward a LOT of us on Xbox America considering all the boosting we have been doing for this series.

Specifically, they had mentioned that you get gold skins for the Lancer and Hammerburst in 3 by having them for 2.

Also, an early gameplay video revealed that you get the chrome Hammerburst skin by having the "Rookie Gear" Achievement in 2 (reach level 5 in multiplayer).

According to an unofficial statement from one of the devs, the gold and chrome weapon skins will be based on historical/past Achievements in previous Gears games.

I think we can assume the other skins like flame and urban camo will be unlocked the same way they were in the beta.

Sounds good, although I hope that they don't make the flame skins available to players that didn't participate in the beta. That would pretty much be a killjoy.

Maybe it's also time to get Seriously... haha, quit at around 7,500 kills. Shouldn't be too much work...
