LEADING BRANDS, INC.
ANNOUNCES THE NORTH AMERICAN LAUNCH OF
STOKEDTM ENERGY DRINKS
The first Iconic, truly Interactive Energy Drink made without HFCS
VANCOUVER, CANADA, June 12, 2007, LEADING BRANDS, Inc. (NASDAQ: LBIX), North Americas only fully integrated premium beverage company, announces the North American launch of STOKEDTM Energy Drink.
STOKED Energy Drink evolves from its dramatic Dragon icon. Dragons are wise and complex creatures that have a strong presence in almost every culture of the World. From the most revered sign of the Chinese Zodiac to Draco, one of the largest constellations in the Northern sky, to the tale behind the classic red cross English banner so popular at soccer events, to the main characters in numerous popular US movies, Dragons have played and continue to play an important role in history and folklore. A visceral connection to the human psyche such as this is critical to establishing any new brand.
STOKED Energy Drink contains a proprietary blend of active ingredients to give you an energy burst anytime of the day. Unlike other energy drinks, STOKED does not contain High Fructose Corn Syrup.
With the energy drinks category growing annually at over 40% in the US and 70% in Canada, STOKED Energy Drink will be a welcomed addition to the beverage industry.
STOKED is available in 16 oz cans in four distinctive flavors: Original, Sugar Free, Tropical Orange, and Dragonberry. For more information on Stoked Energy, please visit www.stokedenergy.com.

I will ONLY try this if they add "High Fructose Corn Syrup" back into it!
Seriously, what is the deal with noting that? Is there some problem with HFCS that I don't know about? Similar to Trans Fat or something?

Not quite, but several studies have linked HFCS to obesity, especially through soda consumption.
