With how fast they put these new tracks out there, this seems to me likea definite slap in the face to the consumer. I can hear the developers saying to themselves "No, that is too many tracks for the buyer to deal with when they pay the $80, let's go ahead and pull these out of the game, and make some additional money by selling them as additional content." This add-on stuff is getting a little ridiculous. At least hold onto the add-on content for a little while and try to make it look like they did additional work AFTER they made the game.

I'm not really sure of the complaint San Grial. The Xbox 360 version has 70+ tracks to 55 for the PS2 version, plus a nicer controller, all for only $10 more. Plus, you can't even get the downloadable content with the PS2 version. To me this looks like the proper way and the ideal game type to utilize the downloadable content. Just my $.02.

But to me, it seems like developers are purposely leaving out content just so they can make it an additional download at a cost to the consumer. In this case it is obvious that the additional content was created during or very shortly after the game was developed. I don't want this to become an epidemic where developers are really giving you only half of the game we could have gotten right out the box, instead opting to sell it all separately.

I agree with your point, but not with this example. Having met with Red Octane and Microsoft at CES and playing a demo of the game, I knew that content would be ready to go right out of the gate.

My point earlier was that the PS2 version of the game only costs $10 less than the Xbox 360 version, yet has almost 20 less tracks, an inferior controller, no next-gen graphics, no achivements and does not have the ability to even get the new downloadable content.

Sure, Red Octane could have included it, but at what cost? If you were to add the extra content to the game, it would have jacked up the retail cost to $99 right out of the gate.

Wouldn't you rather have the option to download only those song packs you want vs having to pay for everything, even if you had no desire to play it?
