Ladies, hide your moms - the Community Spotlight's on BigP
Hail and well-met, all ye swarthy gamers. As you may have noticed, we're doing Community Spotlights on a bi-monthly basis. No, this isn't because we're lazy (but yeah, we are); it's to make them more specialer!
I had the opportunity to chat with this affable fellow--we had messaged back and forth on Live just after he joined XBA and I could already picture him being in the spotlight. He's got a big ego and the skills to back it up, he's got big ambition and the hustle to make it work, and apparently he is well-endowed with the ladykiller apparatus. Despite all this, he remains humble and friendly... until you try to cop a feel, then he gets really hostile. Jeez, P, I was just trying to get comfortable...
Meta: First things first, tell us about your gamertag/name here, and your history with gaming.
BigP: Well my gamertag stands for BIG POUND which was an alias given to me by friends at a young age since I was always the biggest in the bunch. At the age of 13 I was bigger than a few of my friends’ dads & was frequently approached by older women with the intent to engage in sexual congress.
As for my gaming history I stared as a weekend warrior on an Atari & NES.....I always enjoyed playing but wasn’t a big fan....at around 11 or 12 years old I would play Street Fighter II at a local pool hall for money $1 bet a game would net me about $50 at the end of the day so i became BIG on fighting games just to earn money, But I became addicted to video games at 16 years of age when I was placed under house arrest & a friend introduced me to Zelda & Resident Evil (the first one's always free).
M: Now's the time and you're already in the right place--care to plug Ontime Entertainment?
P: Ontime Entertainment is an independent record label started by me & a friend of mine by the name of Col-D.....it was founded in 2008 & has had its share of ups & downs....I’ve lost a lot of artists due to their laziness & lack of self motivation but lately I’ve been surrounding myself with a lot of money motivated music makers & as soon as my trade marking is finalized by the USPTO there will be more than enough Entertainment to go around & it'll be right Ontime (see what I did there?)
M: What other stuff do you like to do outside of gaming?
P: A better question would be what don't I do outside of gaming....my music keeps me busy & I’m real big on family & highly addicted to making money.....for the most part I just spend lots of time with Snapple Cap’s mom, she's got a great personality.
M: I found her somewhat boring and her jokes were consistently terrible, but her bedside manner is exquisite, I’ll grant you that. What was the most recent film you watched and how did you like it?
P: What was the last movie I watched? you really are no-holds-barred when it comes to these questions
*awkward silence & long stare*
anyway I've been working so much lately I really cant remember the last time I've sat down & watched a movie so ill just throw one out there. A Scanner Darkly, seen it a million times & it never gets old.....It’s original, full of suspense & the plot is just a giant mindfuc.
M: That's fracking awesome, A Scanner Darkly is one of my favourite movies ever and yeah I agree--a total mindfuck. I noticed you saying you're "rusty," what was your previous experience with Gears of War?
P: And as far as GOW goes, anybody that knows me knows that i'm a HUGE GOW fan, so huge that I accepted the changes in GOW Judgment with open arms.....but I've been working long hours for about 2 months now & spending more time with the family & working on quality music so the xbox has had to take the bac seat.....I've always considered myself a GOW veteran (played gears EVERYNIGHT since GOW1) but since I haven't had much time lately I've been rustier than a 10 year retired hooker’s inner thigh.
M: What are your thoughts on the PS4 and overall the next generation of consoles? How do you feel about the "no used games" and "always online" potential features?
What would you specifically like your neXtbox 720 to have, feature-wise?
P: PS4? I’m not sure what that is........When I think next-gen I think Xbox720. My whole view on the nextbox is at the moment we know nothing & all these rumors mean nothing until they come from the horses mouth.......always online wont bother me at all because my current console is ALWAYS ONLINE. No used games is a rumor that I don’t believe at all because it would be console suicide & used games is Gamestop’s number 1 source of profit & its no secret that Microsoft is pro-Gamestop.
What I really want from the 720 is for it to be a game console.......Microsoft needs to stop catering to these assholes that own a Xbox for only Kinect & apps and get bac to satisfying us HARDCORE GAMERS cause without us HARDCORE GAMERS the Xbox wouldn't be SHIT somehow Microsoft forgot that along the way.......so yeah, get bac to gaming and stop trying to turn my console into a FUCIN SMARTPHONE \rant
P.S. more exclusives
M: So you're big in to fighting games. Not a lot of folks around XBA are, and even fewer are in to Dead or Alive. Tell us a little bit about your history with the series, what you like & don't like about 5, and which characters you like to mop up with.
P: I started playing DoA with the 2nd installment on the Dreamcast and I was mediocre at best, but when the 3rd one released on the OG XBOX a friend of mine put me on to the mechanics of the game and I found out 2 things:
1. DoA is not a button masher
2. DoA is the greatest fighting game ever made
My only complaint with DoA5 is the fact that the heavy hitter characters where patched to have equal strength as the speed characters.......can't really understand why Ayane should have the same strength as Bass.......but the rookies or "noobs" complained & the babies got their bottle. I mostly like to use random to keep the skills fresh with all the characters BUT when Gen Fu & Elliot come out I sure do hope you brought your A game or else you're gonna have a bad time.
When it comes to big, muscular dudes in tight-fitting, bright-coloured clothing, we know you pretty much love it all; but, if you had to pick, though, which side of the fence are you on? DC with its hardcore Batman, or Marvel with its gang of Avengers?
Who's your favourite individual superhero?
P: Da FUC is a twilight? Some kinda fancy peanut butter?
My favorite superhero is without a doubt The Incredible Hulk.....me & that big green bastard have a lot in common and I also have my son fully convinced that I’m the incredible Hulk, one day I was fussing at him about misbehaving and he burst into tears and said, "please don't get mad daddy, I wouldn't like you when you're mad," needless to say I've got this parenting shit on lizok.
M: LOFL why you gotta Gamma Crush your kid, man? I see you've been playing Skyrim, how did you spec your character out? Like did you go heavy armor and melee at first or destruction magicka or what? Have you done the DLC stuff?
P: With Skyrim its the same as every other Elder Scrolls game with me, a Redguard thief/assassin that uses light armor, a bow & daggers, illusion spells & a silver tongue.....But I’m not above whipping out the ebony axe & ebony shield when the shit hits the fan, Also my character is in all black armor & all ebony weapons......I'm enjoying all the DLC so far but haven’t got to far in any of them but so far Dawnguard is my favorite & call me crazy but I think the crossbow alone was worth the money I spent on the DLC & I’m very disappointed that they only made 3 DLC's.
M: What game on any system would you like to play professionally? As in the whole 9 yards--you'd get paid to travel, practice and bust heads in tournaments at this game.
P: My professional game would have to be Dead or Alive, I get a damn fine rise when I whoop some ass in DoA so if I was getting paid to do it I would probly have an orgasm stroke or some shit..
M: Ok you probably know that with the last few Spotlights, we like to gang up on people.
AJ wants to know, "does being black give you magical powers?"
P: LOL.....as a matter of a fact it does, for example every time a woman claps her hands my manhood increases by several centimeters.....I went to see a Broadway musical one time & long story short, there were no survivors.
Mindy wants to know, "Big P, I feel there are some things you're automatically an expert in. Some would infer its because you're a Black man, but I know its because you are a true Southern man. You and I have bonded over our shared love of fried chicken places, so you know what I'm about to ask.
Have you tried Zaxby's yet?! Just kidding, I always ask you that.
Actually, my legit question is what would your ultimate fast food meal be? You can mix and match from any location. You could get Popeye's spicy tenders with McDonald's fries, a biscuit from Bojangles, and a Coke from Sonic. Get crazy with it. What's Big P's dream meal?
P: Southern classic chicken (Louisiana local) spicy all white meat with jack in the box curly fries, oven baked macaroni & cheese from sam's southern eatery (also Louisiana local) biscuits from Popeye's (I just love those golden brown fluffy muthafukas) also a pecan pie from popeye's & I'm washing all that greasy goodness down with a BIG ASS dr pepper filled to the brim with cherries from sonic........oh lawd jesus im getting diabetes just thinking about it
There you have it folks! Stay tuned for the possible posting of some freestylin' on a Yakbak or Talkboy.
