My first paying job was when I was 14, working for my dad in his old auto body shop. Did a lot of sanding, sand-blasting, prep work and general clean up shit like sweeping the floors and taking out trash. He paid me under the table. My first real tax paying job was after I turned 16 and got my license. I got hired at TGI Fridays in Sandusky, Ohio, as a food runner. We ran food to tables, made salads and deserts, emptied bus tubs etc. Made minimum wage plus all the servers had to give a percentage of their tips each night and we'd pool it all together and split it up accordingly among all the food runners. That's still one of the biggest Fridays in the country and when I worked there, we averaged around 25 servers working every night during the summer. Loved that job.
