Horrible for mpg? What?! Unless you get a gas cap with a key lock that isn't suited for your vehicle and doesn't hold/release pressure properly it'll do absolutely nothing to your mpg... The only thing of concern would be passing the evap portion of the emissions test if applicable.
That's it exactly. Most go for the universal and not the OEM. Getting the incorrect one would cause issues with the evaporative emissions controls as the tank is currently permanently vented to the atmosphere and if you're lucky it would give you a heads up and trigger a check engine light so you know you have the wrong one in place or as you said when you take it in for its emissions test.

Yea but as for mpg, even capless you wouldn't even notice it. Maybe 1% worse mileage. Even on a 14mpg average 1% ain't shit.

I am tired, not grouchy. Weary, even. If you make it to 45, (lots of people don't) you will understand.

I've already outlived one of my grandparents and if I make it a few more years, I'll have outlived another. I'm genuinely surprised I've made it this far.

Even if I lived to be 180 I don't think I'd be annoyed enough to post or say out loud that a Tuesday felt like a Monday.

Hahahaha, nope. You're a curmudgeon. A Tuesday can never feel like a Monday (haha my phone tried to write Mindy there) because you know you're almost 1/2 done with the week. Only grouchy people overlook that fact and focus on the negatives.

I freakin love Mondays (lol my phone also tried to write Mindy).
Monday is the day that all the folks go back to work and no one will know I'm sleeping till two and eating candy for dinner.

Actually, I posted that right before I had my afternoon coffee. Once I had some caffeine in my system, all was well. So, maybe the post should have read, "I know it's Tuesday, but it feels like Monday, at least until I get coffee... "
