This is actually something that doesn't grind my gears but--that big glitch I had in Prince of Persia? I did indeed have to start over since the game nuked my autosave and my already having started over before I read about the fix nuked my backup autosave.
BUT! I was going to start over at some point anyone to get all the collectibles (sarcophagi) so when I bit the bullet and started a new game this morning, I still had all my upgrades and exp from the previous game save! This is great because I am still earning exp as I go through, I can blow through enemies, and I might be able to fill out the entire upgrade chart before I even finish the game this time. Neat!
So, to stay on topic, what grinds my gears is that I can't get the Uplay thing to connect so I can redeem my points. I had trouble with it before, in AC2 I think.
BUT!
