It might be me but I think the hostility is coming from the site name:
Xbox USA vs. Xbox America
A little to close for the overly technical and protective people here?
(No offense it is what makes you guys who you are!)
You might also want to state what is different on your site than here?
Services the site might provide game FAQs, game sessions, game reviews, etc.
Saw you had some game clan stuff I believe at one point? (not that i'm interested)
Contest are a tough thing to run but a good start to something this site doesn't offer, well at least offer anymore?
Game trading is always a good thing to setup? Stuff like that?
Keep at it, even if it fails you will learn from it?

Continuing with the constructive critisism though. I sign up for a bunch of different sites and frequent quite a few, if I'm a member or not, top poster or lurker, each site I visit has one outstanding feature that keeps me coming back.

Some of these features are the community (like here), the information on certain games (testyourmight.com for MK), more niche information like 360achievments, guides (gamefaqs), competions etc. etc.

I feel the same way when I spent some time on the site. I spent a good thirty minutes of my life that I will never get back.

I will tell you that you are on track to running a good site. You have a long road ahead of you. The one big thing to fix is all the grammar errors found throughout the site. It looks as though my 7 year old was in there writing articles.

I don't see anything wrong with joining another site. If it takes off, then great! If not, oh well. I've joined a few sites that were gone within weeks, but the great sites had to start somewhere!

I do agree with many of the posts that offer constructive criticism. You need a gimmick. Set this site apart. Also, the background makes it kind of look like a CoD fan site more than a general Xbox site. I would stay away from that image unless you are trying to make your site about that game exclusively.

to say, USA and America are 2 different things. "America" is focused upon continuous states while "USA/united states of america" focuses upon every state part of the grate nation.

Yeah dude. The first thing you need to do is hire a site editor. Spelling, grammar and punctuation errors are simply unacceptable for a successful site.
