I know they had said something earlier about how you could pay 40 points/50 cents to play an arcade game you didn't own, it would be a genuine play where you could get Achievements and post Leaderboards scores but when it's game over it's game over. I think that is kind of a neat idea, though I wish it was 20 points/25 cents instead (I mean come on, these are going to be mostly older/classic games, right?)
What I wonder, though, is how it will work if you own a certain game but try to play it in someone else's game room. Like, if I own Galaga, can I go to Chase's and play it for free? Or will I have to shove in quarters. Or, if Chase owns Galaga, could he like invite me to play it for free with him as long as we're both in his game room?
I'm not entirely sure what they are going for with the game room thing. They haven't mentioned many features other than being able to customize your own and play with friends either simultaneously or taking turns.
I hope it ends up being something fun and cool and not just a new, laggy way to display and play your arcade games the way NXE became a new, laggy way to display your friends list.
