X-Filter a new kind of accessory of the xbox 360 slim

Hey everybody I have a new Xbox slim accessory I would like to start a discussion on. The accessory is called an X-Filter and I would like to know what other gamers think about it. The X-Filter is an attachable air filtration system designed for the 360 slim consoles that just snaps onto the top of the Xbox over the intake vent. It uses a low resistance expanded polymer filter material to remove dust, pet hair, and other air pollutants from the air being drawn into the consoles cooling system. The filter core is also removable, washable, and reusable. Basically I’d like to know how people feel about this. Personally I’ve lost several Xbox’s to premature failure because I didn’t want to open the console and void my warranty so I just let the dust pile up internally while simply cleaning off the outside of the console and the vents like most suggest but it obviously wasn’t enough. I think this is a great proactive tool help keep your Xbox running like it should without having to open it up and deal with cleaning it so often.

You lost consoles because you're obviously a filthy motherfucker and/or you treat them poorly. I've had 3 xboxes, 1 red ringed a year after I had it and it got replaced (5 years and still going strong) and my Gears Slim (also still running strong).
So now instead of people cleaning up their places you want people to put a filter on their xbox, let it get even warmer than usual and decrease airflow (because of the added filter, thus making the fan work harder and causing that to burn up early). If you clean your house/apartment/condo/refrigerator box regularly a filter is going to be worthless.
I don't think you'll be making much off this. Also, you can't advertise here (especially not a product you invented and want to discuss), but I'll leave this open so others can tell you how bad of an idea it is.

Didn't some third party product developer come up with something like this for the original xbox 360 and it melted itself onto the console?
I found it - it was called the intercooler. That was a really bad idea.

My 6 year old 360 that I played almost everyday is so clean inside it looks like new and I have a slim that I've used almost every day since it's launch and it looks the same.
I have had 2 consoles break due to RROD (launch console) and a disc tray. I actually clean my living room and my house and my 2 dogs don't molest my Xbox so I've never had an issue with dust or pet hair build up anywhere near my consoles.

This.....also isn't it a little late to be pushing 3rd party accessories for the 360?
Since the slims can't "red ring" it's pretty safe to push them now though, right?
We at xba would never encourage voiding the warranty of a console, btw.

didn't slim essentially stop the rrod issue?

I think they get a red dot or something. But there are no rings.
They've improved the chips, but the solder is still a problem. Evol says that since the Xbox is considered a toy, they aren't allowed to use lead solder on the componants and the crap they use has a much lower melting point. Then they use crappy thermal paste, or people clog the airflow and it heats up, the solder melts all over and boom- red rings. The ps3 has the same issues for the same reason.
There is no reasonable expectation that a child could get into a video game console and eat the solder off the chips, I don't understand why they have to use crap. It's lucrative for them, I guess... Systems are kind of throw away now.
I also don't get why kinder eggs can't be sold in the us.
Laws are fails.

Then it created the disc read issue.

The one where if you drop it when a disk is in it, it digs crop circles into the disk and won't read it?

No not that one. Many of them now fail right out of the warranty and just stop reading discs consistently. It's a $55 repair to pay Xbox to fix it.
BS if you ask me. Lots of people with this problem, including myself.

Kinder eggs can't be sold in the us of a because the fda prohibits the inclusion of small objects within food products that aren't essential to the product.....like the stic on a lollipop makes a handle which makes it essential
No, I know the reason, I just don't get it. Especially when they allow the sale of choco treasure eggs and Cracker Jack. Seems like a lot of semantics robbing me of my fun. I never once choked on a kinder egg toy, lol.
