wish me luck

So for the last 10 months I have been in a poker league in my small Ohio hometown of Clyde. Long story short, the top 6 in points win a trip to the world series of poker $1500 event. this includes airfare and hotel! Well yours truly came in first place overall, so I leave for Las Vegas in about 12 hours!

I will be there until next Wednesday, so anyone on my friends list that is why you won't see me online for about a week or so! Like I said in another thread, If I make it to the final table I will be wearing my 360voice coustom shirt! When I come back I will update this thread to let everyone know how it went! and raine I'll save some waffles for you! lol

Well, OK here goes!

It is tuesday, and we have 2 more days here in Vegas, so I will only post about the tourney for right now as I expect more to happen before I leave!! (the only waffles have been at the buffet!)

Well, the event that my friends and I were in was the fourth biggest poker tourney EVER! and the biggest non-main event ever played. there were 3930 players that entered and first prize is $830,000!

I started at a table with 3 pro players and 6 amatures. A few of the players at my table were complete maniacs and the first person out was out in about 10 hands.

I got a few good hands and ended up knocking 2 players out before the first break (2 hrs.) and had an above avg. chip stack. After break I went card dead and only got involved in about 4 or 5 hands and only taking down blinds and antes.

So by not being able to take down any big pots, the blinds and antes started whittling away at my stack and I was still getting garbage hands so I started getting to the point where I needed to make a move.

Then comes jesus!! For those of you who don't know Jesus, I am talking about Chris "Jesus" Ferguson. He is a poker legend and my favorite poker pro!
He sat one seat away from me and just stared at me the whole time as I folded hand after hand! Talk about intimidating!!

It wasn't long after that, that I found the hand to make a move with. It wasn't so much a good hand, as the right time. I was in the big blind with J K of diamonds and only about 7 times the blinds. I got a call with A Q of clubs and my hand didn't hit. I didn't lose all of my chips, but enough that I was al in the next hand with nothing. Game over about 4 1/2 hrs. in.

One person out of 7 of us made it farther than me. He ended up 98th and took home $6000! So that was pretty cool!

The tourney is still going on and last I checked, there are still 17 people left.

Jesus is one of them!!
