wireless connection issues

not sure if anyone can help with this or not.

I run vista on my laptop (dell inspiron) , and I bridged connections to use an Ethernet cord to my 360. this has worked fine up until a week ago. I'll have to delete and re bridge the connection multiple times just to get my computer and 350 online. I have to constantly diagnose to repair it, and takes upwards of an hour just to get my laptop and 360 online, which is ridiculous. Now today I can barely stay connected for 20 minutes without my internet switching to limited connectivity and me having to diagnose to fix it. it's really frustrating to be online and then dropped and have to figure out how to repair it for 25 minutes.

I tried to power option that the microsoft site says is the solution, and no luck. I even switched from a bridged connection to Internet connection sharing, and no real help to it being dropped. I turned my internet protocol version 4 + 6 to automatic settings, and nothing is working. some help would be great lol.

Have you tested your internet speed? speakeasy.net

Are you sharing a folder or file on your connection? You have to disable your file sharing or connection sharing. Network sharing folder will tell if your sharing certain folders or not.

Have you reset your router?

why would i disable my connection sharing? that's what is used to keep my 360 online.

Have you tried fire, or perhaps a good screaming at it will straighten that mo fluffer out.

I am a complete noobcake when it comes to anything internet or computer related, though I must admit the fire idea seems pretty solid.

Correct. But it is in a sense giving your connection a hard reset. You'll have to reenable it. did you test your connection speed on speakeasy?

I have the same problems on occassion, usually its just my router being finiky.... If it helps I used a bridged connection from ethernet to wifi port 1 on my Acer Aspire (Windows7).

Then on wifi port 1 I have internet sharing on.

To get my 360 to connect to live though I usually have to do I connection test on the box and THEN connect to live....I don't understand it but its just the way it works. If this doesn't work though I have to reset my routers power cycle by unplugging it from the wall for 30 seconds.

Good luck on this though. On an unrelated note though does your bridged connection ever give you a good NAP type? I'm always restricted or moderate.

it gives me a good NAT type but i heard using ICS ou can have an open which is the recommended. also bump
