I played through Mass Effect 1 a while ago and loved it. Now im just picking up ME2 an i was wondering what are the differences between the two. I heard that there were less RPG elements in the second one. what is your opinion on it?

I really enjoyed em both, just went through and re-finished both of em with the dlc's and could definately see the refinement of game between 1 and 2. The scanning of ore on the planets gets grueling fast and the driving on the planets still needs work but overall gameplay and story kept me interested through multiple playthroughs

I loved both ME 1+2.
I still need to go back and finish my evil play through and also my insane play through of ME2.

Never finished ME 1 so I never got around to 2 but I did like the first one so I plan on finishing it and moving on to 2 before 3 comes out.

ME2 definitely has less "RPG" traits than ME1, but it expands on the best part of ME1 and thats the conversations and character relationships, as well as decision making. Other people mentioned this but the combat is a ton better and much more intuitive.
Also, if you plan on beating all the DLC, play the Arrival after doing everything else in the game. It makes more sense that way, at least to me it does.
I myself am playing ME2 again with my ME1 character that made decisions I want carried over to ME3. Can't wait to see how it all intertwines, especially the Geth and Rachni side-stories.

I am not a fan of Mass Effect.
My husband is, however. He loved the 1st one and played it a million times. Despite the changes, he says ME2 is one of the best games he's ever played.

He has good taste in games.

Great games beginning to end, especially the second one, great story and well paced action. Also love the aspect of your actions in one game affecting parts of the story in the next, added a lot of replayability for me just to see what else can happen in the story.
